PM dsm. He's a fellow Aussie and is wise to the ways of the least expensive way to have things mailed to Oz from the US.

Hey jase, I'm on the S8 too, forget about buying the actual card reader, its such a rip off price.
If your game enough to go down a more DIY route:
Look at this thread, it gives instructions on how to use a generic card reader to read your S8 data card.

I found it immensely helpful, and bought a ACR38 generic card reader from overseas
and then jigged my resmed card to sit on the pin/contacts.
Now I can download my data and read it on my PC.

You can read it on your PC with JUST the card reader? I thought You had to buy the expensive software in order to display the info?forwhatyoudreamof wrote: Now I can download my data and read it on my PC.
If all I need is the card reader PLEASE let me know!

The software is also needed for you to be able to utilize the information on the data card.Komodo wrote:You can read it on your PC with JUST the card reader? I thought You had to buy the expensive software in order to display the info?

So you need software, data card reader and the data card.

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure.Pugsy wrote: The software is also needed for you to be able to utilize the information on the data card.

The software isn't worth it to me right now. I'll just keep checking my machine daily and keep a "diary" of the info.

Re: resmed s8 auto cpap data card reader
Hi, I am new to the Resmed world. Looking around for the software (hint hint). I will get it one way or the other.
As far as the reader, does anyone know about the ACR38T http://www.securetech-corp.com/acr38t.html ?
it is 23mm wide and plugs right into the usb port and is designed for "SIM size" smart cards. Maybe no need for shims...
But maybe it is not wide enough...
Thoughts?
