Time to change mask question

Post by cpapjack » Mon Jun 08, 2009 12:59 pm

I've been using a Breeze mask w/XL pillows for the past few years and am looking to change. I'm interested in the Swift LT, but they do not offer XL pillows. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Nasal Mask that does use XL Pillows. I've tried most Nasal masks before, and didn't really like most of them.

Hello Jack.

Long time......

Why? If it's working, don't mess with it.

Hey Den, yes, it has been a long time. Just been super busy with life!

I'm looking to change because although the Breeze works, I'm getting just getting sick of it. I can go months without an issue, then all of the sudden the outer edges of my nostrils become super sore and sometimes the sport between my nostrils develop a sore, so much where I can't use it. Then I have to resort to my Activa, which is great, except I always, always get a sore on the bridge of my nose no matter what. So basically I'm just looking to try something new in hopes that these minor issues I have will go away with a new/different mask.

Hi Jack, good to "see" you again!

The Headrest nasal pillows mask was designed by a designer of the Breeze.

LINKS to HeadRest nasal pillows mask topics (same mask has had other names: Aeiomed Aura, then Headrest, then Invacare Twilight NP, then back to Headrest again.)

It comes with medium and large nasal pillows. Extra large pillows for it can be ordered separately. I don't know if you can substitute "extra large" for, say, the "medium" that come with it...I doubt it. Probably the extra large would have to be bought as a separate (additional) item.

Hi Rested Gal. It's been a long time. I've just been super busy with life and my successful therapy, thanks to this forum !!

I've actually tried that mask before and just could not get a good seal, no matter what I did. I may give it a try again though, if I can't come up with anything else.

If you could try on the Swift LT it would be best.

I wear a medium pillow in some nasal pillow masks but a small in the Swift LT is perfect for me. I'm thinking they fit larger. You might be able to use a L in the Swift LT.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I will have to call my DME provider to see if they are covered under my current insurance. They were always good to me.
