CHF and Falling

Post by Severeena » Mon Jun 08, 2009 6:22 pm

I am sorry for not posting, but I once again had to be hospitalized for Congestive Heart Failure.

I then had to go back into physical therapy.

I taught the aids and nurses how to set up my CPAP machine as well as transferring my O2 tubing from the room to the CPAP. None of them could understand how easy it was to transfer the O2 and turning on my machine.

I told them not all machines are the same.

I know what you mean. It seems I went to my first rehab center with CHF.

When I saw my doctor today, she said I have had CHF since my surgery.

Really nice of them to tell me.

Severeena,

Sorry to hear that news - not good. Am wondering though, if your doctor still thinks straight cpap (or auto) is
suitable ?

CHF patients can end up getting moved to Bilevel or ASV (Servo Ventilation) machines. That usually depends
on if respiration starts fluctuating in volume (irregular breathing).

If they don't think you need that type of machine then looking on the brightside, they appear to be thinking
it is under control.

Good luck
