I would confirm that the Goodknight you have listed there has data - I am not sure it does.

Did you find a DME that will accept your insurance and you can make a trade?

Of the others I would lean towards either of the APAP's (elite is not an APAP) - I would want to know if the Elite is the I or the II model (assuming it is an S8).

There are more questions I would be asking too - are these used or new? The Vantage is the older model as is the cflex remstar APAP.

the elite and vantage give better data on the LED than the remstar

the vantage will not have exhale relief in APAP mode but will in CPAP mode

the cflex APAP isn't the top model but close - the aflex model is the top

if the 420 G is correct I would steer away from it myself - the 420 E is a different story

so the question is what do you want -

ability for machine to adjust some during the night?

data you get off the LED?

data you need to get software for?

exhale relief?

1-Resmed S8 Auto Set Vantage
2-M series Remstar Auto w' Cflex and Smart card, AHI, Leak
3-resmed elite
4-Goodnight 420G CPAP Machine

They are all older models.

The first 2 are automatic, and data capable.

1-Resmed S8 Auto Set Vantage -- Resmed's newest line is S8 ii with EeasyBreathe. Distinctly quieter than the older models, very comfortable, with bettet (h3i or h4i) humidification. http://www.resmed.com/us/products/devic ... nc=dealers.

2-M series Remstar Auto w' Cflex and Smart card, AHI, Leak -- Respironic's newer models come with A-Flex, in addition to C-Flex.

3-Resmed elite: fixed pressure, data capable -- Resmed's newest line is S8 ii with EeayBreathe. Distinctly quieter than the older models, very comfortable, with bettet (h3i or h4i) humidification.

4-Goodnight 420G CPAP Machine - do not buy. Older version, and not data capable. -- Puritan Bennet (Covidien's) new line is the Sandman. "Info" is fixed pressure, data capable, "Auto" is automatic. None of the 420x series show any data on their screen - not even the data capable ones.

of the 2 APAPs you have listed

the vantage has better LED data but no exhale relief in APAP mode

both have software available - more ppl use encore (respironics) over resscan (resmed) but there are groups of both users on the forum to get help and input from - the m series likes to lose nights of data too I read

the humidifier for the resmed machines supposedly is better - the m series humidifier some ppl complain about running out during the night

can you exchange the humidifier you have too? sometime you walk out of the DME with a rental for the cpap but the humidifier you have to buy - ask about that too

I would want to check which machine is actually quieter myself as I have heard the m series is noisy

ozij - he said the elite was the S8 II so it is the latest - he currently has an escape - not sure if it is S8 II but an escape

Hi

As Ozij said the Goodnight is old stock, replaced by the Covidien Sandman Series.

Suggest you add that to your list.

The Auto is very quiet, terrific software, daily LCD display, and is very compact.

cheers

What features do you want?

Do you need exhale relief (like the EPR on your S8 Escape) on your new machine?

Did any central apneas show up on your sleep study?

Will you ever run it on battery power?

I had no central apneas. I only slept for 2hrs. 128 limb movements. AHI-14 events per hr. PLM-61/hr . sleep arousales 20/hr from obstructive breathing. My new perscription says I can get a data/auto cpap. so I think its another good start..The sleep docs here don't get to involved with data..

I just realized your current machine doesn't have exhale relief. It looks like you don't have much in the way of requirements. These are the latest Auto CPAP machines that have full-data capability. They should all give you excellent therapy and have software available to get detailed info about your therapy.

Respironics M-Series Auto w/ A-Flex (the A-Flex model has A-Flex and C-Flex. The C-Flex model is older and only has C-Flex)
Resmed S8 Autoset II
Puritan Bennett (or Covidian) Sandman Auto
DeVilbiss Intellipap AutoAdjust (no data on LCD but has smartcode to get basic data online)
