Re: 3 Weeks with No Sleep
Last Night was a DUD. I actually choked somewhat when I took my Ambien. I was laying down. After an hour I was still awake. Then I was coughing and I had an episode of really bad acid reflux. I have only had it happen like that 3 times in my entire life. It feels like your throat is on fire. I am a mess. I have my 1 month follow up next week and I am reading some things on the boards and have some ideas. One is about the C-flex. I see a thread on that and am going to poke around there. I think I am concentrating on that breathing too much.

I am glad you have an apointment next week. Make sure to write down things that you want to bring up to the Dr. Keep reading here and don't give up.

Re: 3 Weeks with No Sleep
Ambien didn't do anything for me. Period. I never took it for my CPAP, I was trying to see if I could sleep on a plane so I took it a couple of times to see what it did. The answer is nothing. I had a MUCH harder time falling asleep than I normally do and still woke up several times during the night. I slept much worse with it than without it. To top it all off, the effect would carry into the next day where I would have a hard time falling asleep the 2nd night as well.TXLadybug wrote:Everybody seems shocked when I tell them it takes 45 min to an hour for Ambien to work - but it does work!
After I go to sleep, I rarely wake up, and I sleep until the alarm goes off the next morning. I just need the help to get to sleep, not staying asleep. Once I'm relaxed, I don't even feel the mask or the air, or hear the machine. I've tried twice now to sleep w/o Ambien - not good. Awake till 4 am. I can't afford any sleepless nights with the amount of sleep debt I owe.
