After a couple of years on the Nasal Aire II, I think my nostrils have stretched slightly, but it's not noticeable to anyone but me. And the only way I notice it is that I now require a larger size cannula then when I first started out.

So far, not a big deal. No one comes up to me and makes oinking noises. Or if they do, it's because I took the last piece of cake.

Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Babs, Nostrils get bigger with age.
the only 2 things that continue to grow as we age is the nose and the ears.

Oh, and the chin.

There is no doubt in my mind or my wifes.

I have been usineg the Breeze for 11+ years and mine are definitely much larger.

If you see the pix of the jungle tribe peope who stretch their lips and ears, there is no dount that constant pressure aghainst tissue will expand it.
Simple physics.

It is not something you notice in a few weeks or even months, but after 11+ years, I can assure you that they do enlarge.

It is possible to stretch your nostrils. Just look at those kids who stretch their earlobes or foreign tribes that use stone disks to stretch their lips. Skin stretches, and if you keep at it, it doesn't always go back. I think you'll be fine as long as you choose pillows that fit easily -- nothing that requires too much strain on the skin.

I resisted getting a CPAP because I was afraid of the expansion of my "cute little tiny turned up nose"........really!!!! My nose is expanding and I am using the nasil pillows. I am going to try the mask this week in hopes of reducing futher 'expansion'. Fellows, you don't realize just how important our 'cute little tiny turned-up nose's" are to the ladies. Better sleep to all!!!!

An old old thread. It just keeps coming back like a Walking Dead zombie. Somebody needs to shoot it in the head (nostrils?)

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Let's keep it going.

I have not noticed any change in my nostrils.

Decades before I ever imagined a nasal cushion, I suffered from allergies and nasal dryness.
In childhood, and at private moments afterward, my nostrils were the site of frequent
"mining expeditions". My nose is not at all enlarged or deformed.
