BAD DME, BAD

Post by boston » Mon May 11, 2009 3:34 pm

I posted awhile back about a billing dispute i was having over a hose i had gotten from my DME.
They had told me they would take care of it, however friday i got another bill from them with a threat to send to collection.
Today, after umpteen thousand phone calls, they say that never happened, and they will split the copay with me.

SO, if anyone is in the TULSA, OKLAHOMA area STAY AWAY FROM CPAP SPECIALISTS, they specialize in something allright and its not service.

I feel your pain! I finally got my DME to say I could bring my machine back without paying for the humidifier (which isn't separate), but I haven't done it yet because I'm waiting for my new machine to arrive. I worry that I'll run into a situation just like yours when I return it. "Thanks, now where's our $300 for the humidifier?"

I hear ya's about the DME's. My insurance uses Walgreen's Home Care. When I did my sleep study, I liked the somno plus and my doctor specifically wrote for that with the size xs specified-that's what I used and it worked well. When the RT came out with my cpap and mask, she brought a somno plus alright but brought a small (that was all they had on the shelf). I've been using it for 3-4 weeks now and I think it's a little big, touches my lip and if I adjust it, I get an air leak in my eye. I called them today and requested the xs per the MD's order and was told, they didn't have it in xs. The RT went on further to say that most are s,m, and L-so we set up an appointment for me to go in to be fitted with an xs if they had one. Her answer wasn't good enough for me, cause I know in my sleep study they used an xs. I went on line and sure enough the somno plus comes in xs,s,m, and L. I called them and told them it did, gave them the part number and told them to order that for me. I got that they would order it for me but of course, they didn't know how long it would take to get-I'll wait a week and bug em and keep on bugging em till I get what I want. Thanks to all of you, you have made it possible for me to stand up and fight for what I need!

Cindy
