If we knew what machine you have, what your pressure setting is and what mask you are using we could help you.

Please fill in your User Profile and give us that information. To be continued----.

Any at all will interfere with optimal therapy. Leaks that blow into the eyes are particularly concerning, since they may cause eye health problems. If you have a machine that can show you some statistics about how your therapy is doing, that will help you figure out what's "too many" for your particular case.

I wonder on what basis you make this statement?

If the level of leak is within machine specifications, and is not otherwise bothersome, what is the problem?

I guess my definition of "optimal" therapy would be no "unplanned" air escaping. However, I'm not a doctor and have not researched this, so I certainly would defer to the opinion of anyone who has.

Different cpap masks have different leak rates (based, I believe, on the amount of air that is supposed to escape via the ports). So, as I understand it, an acceptable leak rate is the leak rate for the mask one uses. And, those mask leak rates vary based on the pressure the CPAP is set to (i.e., the higher the pressure, the more air that will escape via the mask ports).

I think someone posted a leak chart for some masks in the our wisdom section but not sure
