After quite a battle, and having to get my insurance company involved with an unresponsive sleep clinic, I have gotten the ok to switch from my S8 Escape II which I was having trouble tolerating (PLUS IT HAS NO DATA CAPABILITIES other then usage/compliance..so who knows if it was even working for me) and have got the ok to get an apap machine. The med supplier has M series auto cpap with A-flex .... and one with C-flex. Does anyone know what the differences between these 2 are? I desperately do NOT want to make the wrong choice. The only other machine they carry is the Resmed Autoset II but from what I have read the easy breathe technology only works when it is in cpap mode and not auto. (I have difficulty on exhale even with it on and set to max)
I'm sure somewhere on the forum someone has answered this question before but I could not find it ... any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
~Starr

Re: C-flex vs A-flex?
Jules is right. The AFLEX machine also includes CFLEX. Get the AFLEX machine.
If you get the AFLEX machine, you can run some comparison tests....on your own....to determine which mode you like the best. I started out 2-1/2 years ago with an auto CFLEX machine.....and that's the mode I prefer. When I purchased a travel/spare machine, I got an AFLEX. When I tried out the AFLEX mode, I found I didn't like it.....I had been conditioned to prefer CFLEX....because of 2-1/2 years of using only that mode. I re-set the new machine to CFLEX mode....so that it exactly matches the machine I use on a daily basis. When I'm on the road, I can't tell the difference between my travel machine...and my daily use machine at home.

Re: C-flex vs A-flex?
Get the Remstar auto with A-Flex, as the others have said.
It's a data capable machine. With it you have cpap mode with or without c-flex and you have auto mode with or without c-flex and with or without a-flex.

Re: C-flex vs A-flex?
Yup! What they said!
I have that machine. I don't like Aflex, so I ran it in Cflex (I currently run with no flex at all). But I like having ALL the bells and whistles available, since I'd heard so many people RAVE about how GREAT Aflex is. Me, I'm not one of the Aflex fans. But if you don't have that option, you'll never know, now will you?
Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: C-flex vs A-flex?
Thank guys! =) A-flex it is! I am assuming that both A and C-flex are similar to ResMeds Easy Breathe EPR right? Does anyone know what the difference between the 2 of them are? Just separate algorithms or something?
Re: C-flex vs A-flex?
Yup, they are both EPR. I have no idea about the algorithms, and all that. Someone smarter than I will have to go into detail about that. But yes, they are both exhalation relief, just slightly different from each other.
