"Prescription coupon".
I found a universal pharmacy coupon that you can get via text message. The savings vary by drug and anyone can use it. I showed the text to my pharmacist and she enters the coupon numbers. She also added the coupon to my account so I get the discount every time.
You can text TXTCPN to 368266 to get the coupon. There is no charge outside of what you pay for text messages (but who doesn't have unlimited txtng anyway!) and you can use it as many times as you want, even forward it to others.
Cheers!

Re: "Prescription coupon".
If you do a google search for "TXTCPN to 368266" this exact same post comes up on many different health based forums and message boards... even down to the "cheers" at the end. This sounds like some sort of scam or virus or something. I'm wondering if maybe this post should be taken down because it might put members in some sort of danger. Just a thought. Maybe someone else has more information on this post, but it sure seems suspicious when the same post turns up everywhere (but with different posters, that is!) If you don't believe me, please do that google search and you'll see what I mean.

I can assure you there are plenty of us who don't have text messaging. You must be very young to assume such a thing lol!

Re: "Prescription coupon".
Sounds kinda bogus to me also. A coupon that is good everywhere.
Also, I just won $20,000,000.00 overseas, all they need is all my personal info. This is my lucky day .

By the way, I guess this would take a cell phone too, right? I think it's amazing that this person thinks everyone has a cell phone. Or am I the only one that doesn't have a cell phone. I can't be the only person left on earth that does not have a cell phone... Or am I?
You know, here is something truly amazing... I don't have a cell phone but I've already had an acoustic neuroma. Supposedly this is the brain tumor that cell phones supposed to give you... I don't know if that is true, but somehow I got one without a cell phone. That's like me at the ripe old age of 17 having a Down's syndrome child. Isn't that supposed to be mainly for women over 40 years old to worry about. What... am I just the unluckiest person in the world or what? Maybe I should start playing the lottery. Oops, I guess they don't have a lotto in this state. When I think about it... I have central sleep apnea, not the common Obstructive sleep apnea. And I have a size 12EEE foot... totally uncommon, except for bigfoot's wife!
Well, I guess the truth is now out.. I am weird, unique, one of a kind, rare... goofy...
I'm sorry, I've been up since 3 am. For some weird reason the Vitamin D I have been taking that has helped the fibro pain and the back pain has all of a sudden stopped working and ALL the pain has come back. All my muscles and joints ache... you name it, it aches horribly. Can vitamin D just suddenly quit working it's miracles? It's like someone hit a light switch inside of my brain and turned off all the good benefits I was getting from the vitamin D. I again feel like someone is crushing my rib cage and like my C-5/C-6 is acting up again. I refuse to have another anterior cervical fusion but for some reason all the pain is there again. I got up and took a percocet and a robaxin and nothing... not even sleep.
I apologize for always being a downer...

Re: "Prescription coupon".
Karla, I haven't been familiar w/fibromyalgia since the late 90's so wasn't aware they are now using vitamin D to treat it. What dosage are you on? Just as a supplement or as an actual scripted treatment? I ask because I was put on a HIGH SCRIPTED dosage of vitamin D for 2 1/2 years by an Endocrinologist before and after starting Forteo for osteoporosis. My dosage was then reduced for a little over a year and has been reduced again just last fall.
I was originally started on 100,000 IU once a week. That was then finally dropped to 50,000 IU once a week and is now down to 50,000 IU once every other week. At first blood draws to measure my levels were done every 3 months, then every 6 months. At no time have I taken a calcium supplement, we've had to rely on just what calcium I get in my diet. I had drastic improvement the first year on Forteo, and good improvement the second year on Forteo so we opted to go w/a third year on Forteo, improvement was mild so at that point we stopped the Forteo. I did have one bisphosphonate infusion a year before starting the Forteo and one bisphosphonate infusion a year after stopping Forteo. Presently I am on just the vitamin D every other week until we run another DEXA in July. We used pamidronate for the infusions rather than the newer once a year infusion. I opted for the pamidronate as it was the older, more proven drug w/better known risk of side effects. These were done at Mayo Clinic in MN after discussion w/their Endocrinologists.

Karla - thanks for being the "downer" this time. Takes some pressure off of me. I didn't hit the spam button on this since there were replies, but probably should. All of user Emilyjem's prior posts have been generic medical statements, and yes, that user name is prolific across the internet. Spam with a capital S, and not just because it's at the beginning of the sentence. But I coninue to learn such good stuff when these posts come up. Maybe that's the silver lining.

Re: "Prescription coupon".
I also have chronic pain from 3 failed back surgeries and one neck surgery. My doctor said my vitamin D level was the lowest he had ever seen! He started me out on 50,000 IU for 2 weeks (prescription) then switched to one every third day or so, then my level was back up again and he said just to make sure I get 1000 IU a day (not prescription- Alabama medicaid won't pay for low dose vitamin D) so I take just regular 1000 IU vitamin D and then a multi vitamin with about 800 IU and I was doing great on that for a few months. Then suddenly about a week and a half ago it just abruptly stopped working. All the pain came back. My fibro pain, joint pain, hip and knee pain, the crushing ribcage feeling and neck and shoulder stiffness and pain. I have a pain patch and take percocet and that doesn't help at all with this pain. It's funny how it came back abruptly. Like a switch had been flicked off. I was doing amazing on the vitamin D, I didn't know it would just stop like that.
I've been on a diet and lost 28 pounds but I've been taking my otc vitamins and making sure I eat healthy. Unless my vitamins have been bogus (would a company do that to save money?) I haven't changed anything since I started taking the 1000 IU vitamin D capsules & my multi vitamin caps. I called my doctor and asked if he can just call in some of those heavy duty 50,000 IU vitamin D for a week but he said he needed to take blood tests before he gives any prescription vitamins. I have an appointment the first week of May for a blood test. I don't know if I'll last that long. I finally got the BiPAP and mask to work well and now I can't sleep because of the constant pain. I'm so tired and hurting. I'm starting also to get ravenous again. I don't know if it's the stress or just that my body needs something it's not getting besides the vitamin D. Even the CPAP mask hurt my face last night. That was a first. It felt like it weighed a ton. But now if my cat just walks across my body it feels like an army is marching across my body.
All I want is the vitamin D to work again. I started taking 2 of the 1000 IU vitamin D capsules today. I hope it helps. How reliable are vitamin companies in the hard economic times like these? Would they really risk their reputations by selling bogus pills? That is the only thing I can think of why the pain is back and as bad as it is. Vitamin D takes time to build up and down in the body. Maybe this new bottle of pills is just white powder and vitamin D. I wonder how I could ever tell?
I have no idea what the Forteo or that other biphoso... or pamidronate... is? I never heard of these things before. What are they for? Osteoporosis? I didn't know that Osteoporosis was such an emergency type ailment to take all these things. I thought it was just a gradual long term disease. I guess I am going to get that too... without the vitamin D all the calcium I take doesn't do anything, does it?!! Maybe my cats should take me in and have ME put to sleep for good. I sure fell like it would be a relief! Too bad they can't drive the car!

Re: "Prescription coupon".
My doctor just had me get my vitamin D levels checked and told me that if the level is low, it cannot be corrected with over-the-counter supplements. She indicated that correcting the deficiency requires a series of vitamin D injections over a course of several weeks. If you truly have a vitamin D deficiency (it requires a blood test to know), I don't think taking supplements is going to help you with it.

check it out - txtcpn dot com (you will run across this if you search txtcp 38266) has the same information. I don't know why you couldn't just print the page and try it at the pharmacy instead of giving out your cell phone number.
