Yes, Medicare pieces those out. But the DME's DO NOT. You CAN buy the headgear without the mask, but you can't buy the mask without the headgear.

If someone knows a source for masks without headgear, bring it on!

LOL,
B.
Here's one -> https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Respir ... -Mask.html

So, do I get a prize of some sort?

Dang boy, what are you, the Silver Surfer, or what?

Okay, your Prize is in the mail. It's a bag of Bertie Botts All Flavor Beans. I recommend "Snot" and "Vomit".

LOL,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

OK, here is what it looks like, in reality.

This was the test/demo cap.
I have three now.
Enhanced w/forehead pad by Padacheek.
This is deluxe cpap mask headgear.
I will never experience neoprene again.

I wished my PAPCAP had worked for me; I just returned it. I don't breathe from my mouth, I just have mouth leaks and it couldn't keep my lips together. It was really cute and I wished it worked. Unfortunately, I had to move on to FFM which is causing problems of its own.

carbonman,

When you have you full face mask on using the pap cap, if you look up or down slightly, does it make the mask tighten and loosen at the bottom?
I'm hoping that the crossing pattern of the straps in the back eliminates that problem.

I've been testing the latest PAPCap with my UMFF exactly as it's shown on the Pur-Sleep website.
It works perfectly - better than if you use the cap and the headgear that comes with the UMFF.
There is no torque slippage or leaking when you turn, and you don't feel like the mask or the cap are about to slip in any way. It breathes better than the neoprene headgear. I don't wake up sweating so much.
It absolutely ROCKS.
The only thing I've added is cotton flannel strap covers for the lower straps and the chin strap.

Hey -- KengEsq -- thanks for finding that mask without headgear. Took the pressure off me Actually, Babette, I had asked my DME about getting a mask at the end of three months if I would pay for the headgear. He was fine with that (about $40). But that doesn't mean I could get a mask without the headgear. Then when I ordered the PapCap I thought I could do without the headgear -- but that doesn't mean he would sell me just the mask! My Swift LT is doing well so I didn't follow up on getting another mask. Think I"ll check that out. I hear that ALL DMEs are wonderful, accommodating folk Actually, my DME has been pretty good. I did get my Mseries Plus changed over to an Auto.

I hear you. I was so entranced by other people's experiences, that I just acquired my third one.

Now I remember why it hasn't worked for me in the past. No, the latest version doesn't solve any of those problems. This cap just doesn't fit MY head. I guess I'm not ROUND. I struggled with it last night, and it just never fit right, kept slipping around on my hair, and that narrow strap doesn't keep my lips shut nearly as well as the Deluxe or the Ruby with their wider straps that wrap around my chin.

I'm going to hang on to this, to take out of my drawer and remind myself why it doesn't work for me, every time a glowing review makes me want to try it again.

Like everything - it's works for some, doesn't work for others. Ask all the test drivers of my Nasal Aire II mask - you'll get mixed reviews there too.

Cheers,
B.

Night number two with the PapCAP II (and "Deep" Pur-Sleep scent).

Leakage: 0.00 L/s

Other than mediocre numbers because I took half a Xanax too close to bed (see my post below), this thing works!
(/viewtopic/t41099/Xanax-for-Panic-Attacks--CPAP.html)

I do have one concern. For me the PapCAP comes down right to my eyebrows, almost on my upper lids. I'm pretty sure I don't have it on backwards.

Maybe my head it just a lot smaller than average?

__________

Carbonman, I just love your psychodelic print CPAPCAP . . . too bad it isn't still available

I'm going out tonight, but I haven't forgotten. It'll probably have to wait until Thursday or Friday.
