one month and come back and we'll see how you are feeling then?"
I had no idea there was any way to read results etc.
The Tech who brought machine to my home mentioned it. I had no idea patient could actually check on it at home! So I guess I won't know until I go back if I should be at higher # or not. I am set on 6 by the way.
Thanks...

Brea, have you had a sleep study? If so, did the doctor tell you that a pressure of "6" is what they came up with for you from the study?

If not, and if he is just guessing at a pressure that he wants you to "try for a month", I wish he had prescribed an autopap so he (and you!) could get some useful data during that month instead of possibly just spinning your wheels to no good effect. Not to mention that there's a better chance you'd be getting good treatment during a month on autopap, if he was just pulling a pressure number out of the air (no pun intended!)

I'm not a doctor - just a well-treated autopap user who is constantly amazed at what some doctors do...and don't do.

Good luck, Brea. Keep reading and keep asking!

Thanks for quick reply. Yes, I did have a sleep study. In fact I had 2 that were different. The first said I had OSA and the second said I did not.
The next 3rd time was with the cpap machine and I havent gotten or heard about the report yet. (I have called for a copy as I do have the first 2.)
The tech that came to my home said the Dr had callibrated it for 6. Does that make sense?

Brea,

I was told something similar. The way it was put to me was that I'd do a follow-up in 30 days to make sure that I'm getting the desired results, etc. The Remstar has a card that they asked me to bring with me at the follow-up and that this would tell them how well I was responding the the machine.

Obviously the machine can't tell how much I'm rolling around, kicking, RLM and all that jazz... but my wife tells me that I'm 100% better .

Follow up, yes. One at 30 days and I believe another at 90 days.

Thanks. I guess we just hope that the number they choose for us is sufficient. It seems the majority of our cpap friends here online do have some info daily as to their progress etc. I guess I just like to know what the heck is going on since it is not the most fun I have ever had! Not to mention how weird this machine looks and feels. I must say if it gives me more energy and I feel better more alert in time, it would be worth it!
