I travel globally for my job. I started out by traveling with my MSeries...that got old fast. I bought the PB GoodKnight 425 (biPAP). i actually found I like it a little better than my MSeries, it has better exhale relief - it actually responds when you are almost done inhaling, it doesn't wait for the exhale to drop the pressure. I actually breathe better with the Good Knight. It is also much quieter and when I travel with my sister, she likes the Good Knight better!! But I don't worry about the battery back up, so I can't help you there....it does have the brick which means you don't need a voltage converter, only an outlet adaptor for the different outlets you will find overseas.
Just my experience, hope you find what you need. Suzanne

What was it about the M-Series that you didn't like when traveling? What was it about the Goodnight that was better?Suz-E-Q wrote:I travel globally for my job. I started out by traveling with my MSeries...that got old fast.
I'm workin' on it.
Re: Travel CPAP Machine Questions
I use the Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP Machine with humidifier for travel. Patty and I have both used it and find it works great. Doesn't have full features, but it will get you thru the night without costing an arm and a leg. I recommend it.
When my M-series was in the shop getting repaired I used this machine for a month. It got me used to no c-flex relief. I have found that my AHI has gone down a bit on my M series by turning c-flex off.

Re: Travel CPAP Machine Questions
I was very keen on the intellipap because of the low noise levels.I'm only on 10cm, and the techs said I should be able to live without EPR, so I turned off EPR on the Resmed rental machine and, as long as I use ramp, I had no problems.
As SleepyInIndy posted above, give it a try. You are on a low pressure, so you should be able to get used to not having c-flex. Give it a few days to get used to it.
If noise is currently an issue then the intellipap is the way to go. I bought an 8ft hose with the intellipap, and was in the process of building a shelf further away from the bed to cut the noise (both M series and resmed disturbed me as I'm a very light sleeper)
I'm now going to sell the new, unsed 8ft hose, as I don't need it. And I've scrapped the half-built shelf. I sit the Intellipap right next to my head and it doesn't disturb me.
The different algorithms you referred to are only for cflex/epr, and for the way AHI is calculated. If you are on CPAP of 7cm without EPR/CLFEX then all the machines will deliver the same result.
If you can use your M series without cflex then you will do fine on an intellipap. Just make sure you get the auto as the standard model is not data capable. You also need to take the data module with you when you travel as this is part of the data recording system on the intellipap, but it's not too much of an addition in the bag.
I can fit the cpap, hose and mask in the intellipap bag, but if I take the humidifier then the hose needs to be in the a separate bag.
If you buy a Aeiomed it will possibly just be a backup/travel machine. If you buy an intellipap I guarantee it will become your best friend. And your wife might just come back to bed
