Searching for cure for red marks around nose

Post by cde » Sat Apr 04, 2009 2:22 pm

I use the res med mirage micro mask and get really bad red marks all around my nose. This has been going on continually for 2 months and is no longer acceptable. Any suggestions are appreciated and welcome. Thank you.

I place a small piece of thick medical tape on the bridge of my nose to keep my mask from making a red indention on it. I also just read a thread where someone uses milk of magnesia before putting on her mask:

Wipe a very thin coat of MOM where the mask will be sitting on your face; let it dry; wipe lightly with a tissue. I may give this a try...

Hope this helps...

I found I had my straps too tight which also made the leaking worse plus take a hot shower each morning works for me so there is no red marks when I leave the house.

From here it seems like about 99% of us start out with the straps too tight thinking it will prevent leaks.

i recently got a Nasal Gel mask. It works great for me , except my bridge on my nose is very sore. I have added some foam inside between the Gel and seal witch seems to have helped some. Last nite i added more foam and it became worse again. so i will go back to adding less foam to it. I guess it's a try and see kind of thing getting the correct amount of padding and tightness.
