Gas from CPAP?

Post by Guest » Thu Aug 25, 2005 5:54 am

I'm new to CPAP (3 days) and i'm not sure whether it the CPAP or not but i've had quite a bit of gas while sleeping the last 3 nights, and also heartburn? My diet hasn't been anything out of the ordinary, just wondering if the CPAP blowing in all that air needs to go somewhere? BTW my machine is set pretty high - at 18.

thanks the help, i can only blame the dog so long.

i've just found that it is fairly common and called aerophagia, i might call doctor and get the bi*** something that adjusts pressure when inhaling or exhaling

This is definitely something I am experiencing also with a pressure of 14. Now, I sound like my husband when I wake up!

You're breaking me up! I did the same thing!
Actually, it was the dog for a while. He sleeps on the floor right next to our bed and he had gas for a few nights. As if that wasn't enough, he parked his rear right next to my machine!
So, as a result, I was power hitting canine methane, YUCK.
Had to move my machine, and take the dog to the Vet.
Yes, the dog has recovered.
This is definitely something I am experiencing also with a pressure of 14. Now, I sound like my husband when I wake up!
Here, pull my finger!

Bob, you're killing me!

And I thought 'guest' was using a naughty word until I finally clued in that she meant biPAP.

Or maybe she was referring to the dog (female) as the gas source?

I had the same problem with pressure of 13. Dr lowered pressure to 11 and the problem stopped. With your pressure at 18 you may want to ask Dr for an AUTO with CFLEX.

FLATULANCE ! That was my handle till I got my auto .

It should eventually go away . Get an auto unit if you don't already have one.

I going to visit the Dr in two days, If I tell him I want an Auto machine, will he comply? or will he give me a song and dance about giving it time. I'm not real thrilled with waking up with gas every night.

I'm going in with the customer is always right and we are the customers right?
