Full Face Mask...What a Difference!!!!!!!!

Post by Kantou » Wed Apr 01, 2009 4:35 pm

I started out using a nasal mask and had sore teeth from using it had to be fairly tight or would leak!! went to the dme got a quattro full face and man what a difference!!!...I love all the room you have in the mask and you can pull it alot tighter without any pain and vitrually stop all leaks!!! laid on both side with head burried in the pillow and no problems!! with my nasal problems this mask has all the answers.. with my nasal mask I felt more claustraphobic then with this roomy full face, plus you can open your mouth!!
If anyone is considering a ff mask dont hesitate to try one out I got 8 hours of straight sleep under the mask which was far better then I was doing on the nasal mask!!

Good deal!

That just goes to show you we all have our differences. I haven't made it thru the night with a f/f mask. Always get up and put my Swift LT back on and figure I'll just wait for the inevitable cold and then I HAVE to go all night with it.

Glad it's working so well for you!

I use a Swift LT. I tried a Quattro for 2 weeks and it was the worst experience ever. I swear that the Quattro was crafted by the devil himself. What a torture device it was.

All this post goes to show is that there is no one perfect mask. For anyone who is still struggling with XPAP, remember... different stroke for different folks.

But do they work with a full beard? I have a beard & am looking to explore the full face mask options but I am concerned with getting a good seal.

I had to shave my goatee...if you want a good seal you will have to shave unless your beard is really close cropped

Some people have posted that the RemZzzs mask liner helps a FFM accommodate a beard. Being of the feminine persuasion, I don't have personal experience with that (well, given the bearded lady circus acts, I suppose being a woman doesn't necessarily preclude personal experience...but I digress), but I can tell you I like the RemZzzs liners

I've tried my full face mask and it's okay and while I find my nasal pillows to be infinitely easier to wear and sleep in, I've also found that the use of my full face mask causes my caps lock on my keyboard to get stuck.

Which lets me out. Which is why I don't wear one.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Don't wear a goatee or a full face mask?
