HELP! Hose keeps coming off of my mask!

I have been a CPAP user for a year and I still have nights when using it is uncomfortable. With that being said, I can't imagine my life without it. I am less tired during the day and wake feeling more refreshed.

I am currently using a nasal mask and I know I'm due to purchase a new one. My question is this.. Does anyone have any problems with the hose coming off of the mask? Last night was my worse night ever with this problem. It came off about half a dozen times which woke both myself and my husband up. My husband tried to duct tape it on but it didn't seem to work well!! Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the hose from coming off of the mask? Is it because the mask is a year old or should I look into replacing the hose?

What mask are you using?

If you look under the "search" box at the top of the page you will see "User Control Panel". Click on it - then click on the "Profile" tab and then the "Edit Equipment" tab. You can then fill out the information on your equipment which will enable the folks here to help you with your problem.

I would suggest that you to a longer hose & replace your mask. If your using a 6ft hose I would go to an 8ft hose. A new mask might help as well. I talk your insurance on how often that they will allow your to replace your mask

I had this happen on one hose that was only a month old. The end had stretched out in a very short time and just wasn't tight enough to hold any longer. I did reverse the hose until the next morning and that worked.

At a year the hose might need replacement. The rubber ends get loose.

If you want to save the money, reverse the hose as Gerry suggests. If it doesn't hold well on the other end, use an auto hose clamp to secure it.

Thanks for all the ideas!! I reversed the hose and that worked so hopefully it will be ok until I get a new hose and mask.

I'm new to this forum and unfortunately my machine, mask and humidifier isn't on the list so I listed it in my signature.

I use Teflon tape to tighten the hose, I paid $.99 for a roll at a plumbing supply. Put a couple of wraps around the male end and try, add a few more wraps if needed, works great
