HOW DO YOU WEAR YOUR SWIFT LT?

Post by junie » Mon Mar 30, 2009 6:34 pm

I wear mine just hanging down, tonight I might try putting that tube on top of my head,
and see what happens, I really never thought about this.

I tried wearing mine on top of my head and didn't like it at all. You'll probably want to have some sort of hose strap over your head to help manage your hose if you wear it like that. Even with that, I lasted about 10 minutes with it like that.

The answer is I wear mine down as well. I even drilled a screw into my night stand to secure a velcro strap so I could have some more hose to go down. The one over my head was using too much hose...

I clip my hose in the little holder on the top of my head and then run the hose to a plant hanger up above the head of my bed. Then the hose runs down to my machine. This seems to keep me from having much rainout and it definitely keeps me from having the hose wrapped around my neck. I sleep on both sides, almost never on my back, and with my flipping to one side or the other, I needed that hose out of my way.

I was wearing mine hooked to the clip on top strap, but last night, I realized that it was hitting the headboard on my bed, so I unhooked it, and just leave it hanging down under the covers. That seemed to work better for me.

I have mine hanging down and the hose across my body since the CPAP is behind me when I am on my left side. This seems to work the best. I used it over my head for a while when I was using the reptile cord but I think it works best in the down angle even though all the pictures show it in the clip on top of the head.

I started with the hose down...it was OK, but noticed leaks on restless nights.
I've moved the hose to behind, and over the top of our headboard, and after 1 night, I had to try it hooked to the top of the gear.(something about strangulation that didn't appeal to me!LOL.
A little more rainout this way(....need to tweek the hose....), but FAR less leaks. I have also found more stable sleep(less toss and turn)...probably the reason for less leaks.

Been this way for 2 weeks now...so far so good.

I've only been using mine for a week now, but I leave it hanging loose and have had extraordinary good leak rates. On Sunday night, my leak rate was actually 0.00L/s!!! I tried clipping it to my head, but much prefer the 'freedom' of having it loose in front of me.

I keep going back and forth between clipping it up and having it hang down. Remember, that I also use a Hozer hose management system, so that helps a great deal. I think it works better with the Hozer having it hang down.

I just got one and really want to wear it over my head so I can manage the hose better. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a journey around the tip of my nose Image and it kind of smashes it on the way.

I will probably stubbornly persist for a while in making it work.

I start with it clipped to the top of the headgear, since it is more stable for me and does not get in my way (hose is hung over head on plant hanger setup). Of late, I have been waking up, several times a night when I find the hose has come unclipped from the headgear and I am now tangled in it.

I see either velcro or a zip strip in its future.

Clipped to top of headgear....

Have tried a few times hanging down, but then I have to tighten headgear more, which I don't like to do. Plus, when hose hanging free, I might rollover on it when I am switching side to side or onto stomach to sleep.

First, I put a hose clip on the tubing and attach the hose to the bed sheet. This takes most of the weight off of the mask.
Since I am a back sleeper, I then position the hose, coming from the hose clip, which is on my right, and lead it across my pillow near the headboard and curve it around to the mask on the left side of my face.

With the hose in this position, I hardly know it is there.
