Took an Ambien cr on a LA to norfolk trip, When I changed planes in Newark my mind was so messed up that I left my CPAP hanging in a toilet stall in Newark and they never found it. That Ambien cost me about 800 bucks!!!

I have decided I just don't like Ambien. I had a REALLY hard time going to sleep last night for no good reason. I normally take 15 minutes to go to sleep. I took way too long every night after I took Ambien. Anyone else experience this? I wonder if people notice it since they are taking Ambien to go to sleep so it creates a need for itself.

I take a 12.5mg table plus meletonin 5mg. for years with no ill effects.I'm on pain managment program and it's just a part of the night time meds.I wonder if you're taking it and expecting to much. that is to say like in 10 minitutes something would happen and you end up "clock watching"in anticipation??

i have had major problems with insomnia in the past, i have a chronic pain condition that affects my ability to have a good night sleep but i have never tried ambien- it is not the 1st line of sleeping drugs here- it was resevered for those who had problems with the more common sleeping meds- i have used temazepam and nitrazepam but the problem with virtually all sleeping tablets is that we build tolerance to them quite quickly- i was put on amitryptillin which is an antidepressant but it is also used for pain management and it works well and does help with sleep too.

i have also used OTC counter meds such as avomine that have a known sedative effect and as long as you do not use them every night they work well. thankfully for me the meds i am given to treat my other problems have an effect and help me to sleep. MS also causes fatigue and for me that is a big issue but at night i think it does help me sleep a bit easier

I use ambien off and on as a last resort. Usually I will not sleep well for a couple of nights and I will take an ambien (5mg) smallest dose. It doesn't really make me sleepy before going to bed but it does tend to help me sleep deeper once I am in bed and for me that is a plus. I don't have any trouble waking up in the A.M. although sometimes I feel tired during the day the next day but that isn't abnormal for me even without ambien. I don't do anything abnormal in the night, I don't sleep walk or eat anything so at this point at this very low dose I am doing fine with it and intend to keep it as part of my sleep arsenal.
My mom likes to take Ambien but her Dr. no longer gives it to her because she has memory issues anyway and he says that Ambien can contribute to that problem so he wants her not to take it. He tried her on Rozerem, she didn't have a good reaction to the Rozerem . For her it revved her up and made her slightly hyper. Medications obviously affect people differently.

One of the nights I took it, I was still awake an hour later. I was actually trying to go to sleep and couldn't and, as I mentioned, I normally fall asleep within about 15 minutes. The time it did work, I did wait about an hour before going to bed. It didn't seem to keep me awake that time but it did (I think) keep me from going to sleep last night.

The Ambien seemed to make my heart beat fast like I had some caffeine before I went to bed.
