Hello,
Although my software tells me that my AHI's are 1.8 to 3.5, I still question the accuracy of the Encore Viewer software. Does anyone else question it's accuracy?

Marty, It would be helpful to know the specific reasons why you question the accuracy of EV.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.
Re: Accuracy with Encore Viewer ????
I think it's probably 100% more accurate than no software. If it not accurate the problem is in how it's read and collected. All data is avg, the body it's self runs on avg. Jim

Re: Accuracy with Encore Viewer ????
All of these data-capable machines use programs (algorithms), airflow and sensors to determine what the events may be. You have to take these reports with a grain of salt. They're only "accurate" when you're sleeping.
The Encore Viewer software only reports what the machine collects.

Re: Accuracy with Encore Viewer ????
.
The software or the CPAP machine data don't need to be 100% accurate . . . they show us imperfect but VERY USEFUL data for us to use as a guide to monitor and tweak our therapy. That's why I don't worry if my AHI is 2.5 or 1.0. Both tell me that I am doing well.
