I have an ear infection - this is my first one since starting cpap so Im not really sure how to deal with it. I am pretty prone to getting them a few times a year. My question is that the last 2 nights when I turn on my cpap it has been making my ears pop like when you go in an airplane and since my ears are irritated it has been painful. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to stop the popping or make it less painful? Also I am wondering if cpap can make you more prone to ear infections/ issues
Thank you,
Angela

Re: Ear infections and cpap
Have you set it to ramp up or does it come on full force? I get the ear infections around the 4'th of July & Christmas . I believe mine are caused by my allergy medications, listed as possible side effects. I usually place cotton in each year at night, for some reason this seems to help.

I have tried it both with and without ramp. When it ramps up to about 8 (my setting is 10) they pop. They also pop if I turn the machine on and then put my mask on. I will try the cotton and see if it helps.

When ever I would use my humidifier, my one ear would get a stuffed feeling like going up a mountain so i had to stop using it. Now it seems to be happening even without the humidifier and I believe that is what is causing my vertigo.
