One tiny part fell off my mask (valve+clip) and I haven't located it. My DME said my insurance company won't cover the replacement part. Buying it online out of pocket would be maybe $14 shipped, not a big deal. But there is another part of the mask ($12) which seems to come loose and it would be nice to have a spare on hand. Even more so, it'd be nice to have a spare valve+clip.
I'm pretty sure insurance would cover an entire new/second mask for me. Every 3 months or 6 months, so it's been long enough. That is crazy because it's making me feel like I should spring for the entire second mask. Seems like on here most users do get the second mask and other replacement parts as often as allowed? Even with insurance coverage, I'd pay 20% of the allowable prices, which is more than I would like to spend right now, but it seems a waste to not get the entire mask replacement since I can. And I'd have the valve+clip and spare other part for now.
And hoses to have spares, but I feel more inclined to wait on those. The problem with those 2 mask parts is that the whole system is unusable with the tiny parts. Any input would be appreciated, I am still very new to this... kind of confused.
Second mask? Replacing parts out of pocket?
Second mask? Replacing parts out of pocket?
Need to restart BiPAP therapy, never got adjusted enough. ResMed VPAP Auto with H3i humidifier, Mirage Quattro Full Face mask, ResScan 3.5. On paper, my Dx is OSAS, but it's probably UARS. Reduced amount of REM. Titrated at very low I/E pressures.

There are going to be malfunctions with our equipment. It might be wise to have an extra mask or two available so that you won't have to forgo your therapy when the clips do break. If you want to just pay for extra clips, they are available on http://www.cpaptalk.com.
