Post by johnnywzl » Tue Mar 10, 2009 4:33 am

Dear CPAP friends:

Does any friend meet same problem?

Respironics Heated Humidifier malfunction
The water is same and cold after 7-8 hours. ( I set in '2' )
Respironics Remstar M series CPAP with A-Flex ( 2008/11 from CPAP.COM)

PS: another friend met same problem and his CPAP was odered in 2008/8.

I wonder if there were quality issue of Respironics Heated Humidifier in that batch.
if there were quality issue, Respironics should re-call that batch.

BR, Johnny

On the Respironics M-series humidifiers, if the machine is running and not hooked up to the patient (mask on, completed circuit) the humidifier will not heat up. I learned this last week during an inservice with me Respironics rep. They have built in some type of sensor that recognizes that the mask is not on the patient (fallen off, accidentally turned on by the family pet) and turns the heater off automatically.
