Teddy, thanks for the information. My Neurologist and Rheumatologist are comparing notes, xrays, etc. on what is happening with me. PN has over 100 different types, so they are trying to narrow it down right now. Nothing in my PN seems to be consistent, except for bone pain. Or maybe I could say it is consistently inconsistent. I had both knees quit working at the same time the night of Jan 20, 2009. I just fell down. Luckily I was at home. My feet will quit working, that is, they will not accept weight. It is like they have been cut off. I put weight on them and fall. The oddest thing is, my brain does not appear to know a particular appendage is not working at that moment. It is like the signal has bypassed my conscious mind, so I fall down. I use a mobility scooter and a power chair more now. I got the mobility scooter used and the power chair from the Scooter Store. I would not mind warming the water, but will wait on buying anything until we have a better idea what is wrong. I am assuming they will find out.

Slinky, I would like to have that info for future use. I am still under warranty (they say), so if I can get Respironics to repair this one and send it back, that would be my first choice (especially after hearing from our panel of experience here).

It seems like I was told Respironics has a deal where they will repair our units at a ... uh .. favorable price up to 5 years, then we are really on our own. Anyone else heard that?
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

Since last summer I am on the downhill side of detoxing off morphine/Oxycodone and since no good deed goes unpunished, they found I have Peripheral Neuropathy. Trigeminal Neuralgia and RLS are under control, so two battles won and several to go. My breathing is doing well. My question is about my wife's Respironics BiPAP Auto. It is still under warranty and Apria brought out a replacement just now. It was the Respironics BiPAP Auto M series.

For those of you who may have used both machines, or are familiar with them, does the M series do as many things as the old machines?
For example, we have it set up as ABFLE (Flex) right now and it is working great. Except that it squeals loudly a couple times a night, waking us up.

The unit Apria brought out did not have a HH. The size difference precludes using the old HH. My question is still.... does the M series do all the things the older unit does? Does it have the same flexibility? If I remember correctly, the old unit can be set up in 4 modes. CPAP, BiPAP Auto, BiFlex Auto and one other mode I think.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it....Dave
I'd have do a side by side with both to see if the functions match, there is a 'M' series specific HH- why didn't Apria provide one?

If the original script specified heated humidifier and given the pre-M series integrated humidifier won't fit the M Series device I'd be shoving my script under their nose and pointing out the fact that are obligated to provide the integrated heated humidifier for the M Series. Or find you a brand new pre-M Series replacment.

I ran into something slightly similar when an auto loaner was scripted for me and didn't specify a humidifier. I had a Resmed (which this same DME supplier had provided) and they provided me w/a Respironics APAP loaner. When I told them I couldn't "do" CPAP/APAP w/o a heated humidifier they said the script didn't specify a heated humidifier or any humidifier and in so many words added: too bad, so sad, tough sh*t".

My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.
