Hmmmmmm...............everyone seems to be stating that their's is soooooo quiet. My first one was very noisy and I was able to get a replacement which was much quieter.

However, someone says that they hear the exhaust port of their mask instead of the machine? What kind of mask are you using? I'm using a Swift LT and I definitely hear my machine over the any exhaust port noise of my Swift LT.

The noise that I hear, is what sounds like the machine breathing with me. Are other people hearing this? Especially if it's put out a pressure of 8.0 or higher.

Hmmmmmm..........

Everyone will hear something different. Besides the intensity of sound energy or volume level being very subjective, there is also the subjectivity and sensitivity to different frequencies of the sound spectrum.

Trying to comapare what you hear against what others hear is not very informative unless you ask it such a way as to be objective like:

Does you machine sound like a 747 as opposed to an F14 jet engine? or does your machine sound like GWBush saying nookyuler as opposed to Obama saying bailouts for everyone?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I can definitely hear mine "breathing". There is a slight whine, I'm not sure if I started hearing that after traveling with it or after I pulled it off onto the floor one night... I sleep like a log, so none of it bothers me. I will say when the A/C kicks on, I can't hear it over the AC. (The unit/furnace is next to my bedroom with the air intake behind my bedroom door)

I can also hear the blue lights. They're deafening!!!

Or, maybe like the sound when people look at their recent 401K statements.....ooooOOOOOOOOO.....SHHHIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiii......

As the owner of "several" Legacy model machines, I can verify that there are subtle differences in the sounds of them.

SharkBait, I've had that whine too, but it comes and goes. Yours might go away.

I'm the one that says my mask exhaust is far louder to me than my machine noise. I hear the machine, but it doesn't bother me in anyway.

Cheers,
Babs

I also use the Swift LT and the only time I hear anything is when something is close enough to the exhaust port on the mask to get the air whooshing sound. It is otherwise silent unless I don't have the mask on and the air is just blowing out the mask.

Ths noise discussion is silly without pressure levels posted. Trust me when I say that you will hear the machine at a pressure of 15 and higher. At a pressure of 10 and lower it is very quiet. I don't hear it once I fall asleep . What really bothers me now is those blue lights and they didn't start to bother me until recently! I used to think all the blue light complaints were silly and then they started to bother me. The more rested I get though the harder it is to fall asleep. I guess before I was so tired I didn't let much of anything bother me.

Oh and in the last 3 months my wife has started to snore and it drives me up a wall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She now gets the elbow in the ribs she gave me for 20 years. She says she put up with my snoring for years and I say I don't care, I can't stand it. I don't know how she did it! I told her I go to all this trouble to fix my sleep apnea and finally take it real serious and get it working and she starts snoring and now I wake up as much as I did from apnea...

P.S. - I know it is not her fault but darn it all............

I'm at 16 and I definitely hear the machine.

But my sweetie who has shared my bed for nearly 40 yrs says "It sounds like surf and lulls me to sleep".

Snoring is soooo misunderstood, isn't it? It's regarded as an annoyance or major irritation. When really it's a major, major, MAJOR red flag symptom of possible Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

I suppose you've talked to your wife about snoring and OSA? About the fact that her snoring might be an indication she has OSA or UARS -- either of which are treated with "cpap."

BeanMeScot raised a question I've been thinking about. My hubby's hose goes up over the headboard and is close to the exhaust port on his mask. Besides being a little more noisy would that in any way hamper the airflow out of the vent? And is there a way to get around that? There seems to be less pull on the hose positioned that way.
