ringing of the ears
ringing of the ears
Anyone ever think that the pressure of the cpap machine would cause ringing of the ears? I've been on the machine for over 8 years and had ringing of the ears before but not as bad as it is getting now. Just starting to drive my crazy. Yea I could blame it on anything but wanted input from anyone out there.

Re: ringing of the ears
I had been on Wellbutrin before CPAP (mis-dx'ed with dysthymia) and that causes ringing of the ears, which persisted until I'd been on CPAP for a few months. So I had the opposite experience.

Re: ringing of the ears
when i first started cpap i felt my hearing was going fuzzy for the first couple of months. it freaked me a bit at the time, so i kept a close watch. that feeling dissipated in another few weeks and i have since experienced no problems. i never had a ringing, just muffled. i began to use ear candles after cpap because of the muffiliness (is this a word???) and that helped enormously. my father experienced severe tinnitus (he was not on cpap) and was treated with medication to assist. it was very distressing for him and i know many people with the condition. you may want to talk to your doctor or consider an audiology review. good luck to you and i wish you well, this condition is no fun.
