I am a first time visitor to this site. I have had my machine for about 2 months now and it has literally changed my life.
I have noticed that I don't see too many Comfortlite users. Is that because it is a fairly new mask on the market? Or people just don't like it?
I use the medium size one that covers your nose even though it is really too small. I have a mustache so I have a rough time with leaks. But the pillows cause me too much pain on inside my nostrils. I have always had sensitive nostrils since long before my sleeping problems. The medium size mask lets me get away with barely squeezing the mask inbetween my mustache and my nose. But it all has to be just right for me to fall asleep.
In the 2 months I have had my machine, it has registered 26 4+ hour sleeping sessions. I am assuming that is good.
I am curious to hear how I measure up to you all. My sleep doctor says I am one of planet earths worst cases. In a less than 3 hour sleep study I had 111 arousals. I got no REM sleep what so ever. I stopped breathing an average of 91 times an hour. After the mask they put me on that night I went from 91 stop breathings an hour to just 5.
So you can imagine the difference my mask has made for me. I have gone from barely being able to get up at 11 am and tired all day and wanting to nap to getting up at 8 am easy and having energy to work all day and fix up the house with no desire to nap. I no longer feel the need to be completely exhausted in order to fall asleep. I feel confident I can just be good and tired and let the mask do the rest.
I have a question about setting the ramp on my machine though. My sleep doctor told me to shorten the ramp after using the machine a while and getting used to it. I can't remember how he said to do it though. My memory is finally coming back, but he gave me those instructions back in the day when I had extreme short term memory loss from lack of sleep.
How do I set this machine from a 15 minute ramp to something shorter.
New guy stats and comments on my Comfortlite mask.
Draken, welcome to a wonderful place for hoseheads like us. It sounds like your treatment is doing well. You're achieving good compliance and are getting positive results.
There are a few Comfortlite users here but I'm not one of them. I'm sure someone else will speak up about that and setting your particular machine.
Stick around and get to know the people here; you'll like them. And having helpful friends will sure come in handy!

Draken,
Congratulations on your success, I had a AHI of 116 and experienced the same dramatic results. If the Comfortlite mask is working for you enjoy it. If you browse through the post here you'll find 20 different people touting 20 different mask as the best. They are all correct in what they are saying, it's just such a personal thing and noses and faces come in so many sizes, shapes and sensitivities whats right for one person couldn't possibly be right for everyone. The information to set the ramp should be in your users manual. Mine a Remstar auto is accessed right form the display on top of the machine and so easy I figured out without the manual. I would definitely try the manual for your machine first even though I did not, I know, it's a guy thing.
