nightly data from my resmed elite II
Re: nightly data from my resmed elite II
How do I obtain a "Clinician's Manual" so I can understand all the features of my machine?
Re: nightly data from my resmed elite II
The Escape has EPR also. The main reason to go with the Elite is data collection. The only other difference I've noticed is that the Elite has a "humidifier warmup" option.alnhwrd wrote:I think the Elite II has Easy Breathe, which is even better!

Okay...I'm new to the game, in Canada, and testing a Elite2 with a large quattro full face.sleeplessinaz wrote:WOW!!! That ia GREAT NEWS!! CONGRATS on getting that state of the art machine!!! The Resmed Elite II w/ EPR is a wonderful machine--I love mine!!! It will show you data every morning in the LCD window but you have to check it before noon that day as it clears at noon and rolls the data into the "weekly" totals. You can buy a card reader and the software now to load onto your computer and keep a graph of your stats. I just got the card reader and software recently--I have to get some free time to load it yet. You are on your way to controlling your own health!! You must have a great and wonderful DME.....

Can you confirm that I can adjust pressure from the menu without a clinician? I am a computer guy and physicist that doesn't want to deal with scheduling a clinician.
Rather than the card and reader combination, I will likely get the USB version and software to directly plug it into a laptop.
I assume you can make adjustments while connected via the software...but also want to confirm this.
The first few nights I have removed it after a couple hours, as my nose is ichy, I might have a small leak to the eyes, and I develop a headache.
I may try the medium mask, but was thinking about the 'Liberty' nasal plug style or the FP Flexifit HC431 as if I buy it online I get all 3 sizes. Any thoughts?
Re: nightly data from my resmed elite II
Yup, there is a way to adjust your pressure w/o having to take the Elite in to your provider. Pressure settings can be changed via the LCD screen. OR via the data card from the ResScan 3.7 software.

ResScan basically operates on a transaction basis, that is its not a real time control link, whether connected via the ResScan card + reader or via direct USB Cable.controlfreak wrote:Rather than the card and reader combination, I will likely get the USB version and software to directly plug it into a laptop.

There is a transaction to retrieve, display and store data from the S8 flow generator (which is generally used often), plus a separate transaction to entre and transfer a new set of parameters back to the S8 flow generator (which is generally used rarely).
It your call as to whether you use ResScan to write parameters into your S8 flow generator, but most users find it is just easier to use the buttons on the flow generator to make parameter changes.
Cheers,
Bill

Controlfreak go to this link to see how to access the clinicians manual so you can make changes to your pressure.http://www.cpap-supply.com/Articles.asp?ID=130
Re: nightly data from my resmed elite II
It is best your first time thru the Clinicians Menu to have a pen and paper handy and to write down what appears on EACH screen BEFORE you make ANY changes. That way you will KNOW for sure what your original settings were should you want to change back to them.
And when making any therapy changes it is BEST to make ONE change at a time and stay at that change for a WEEK before making any other ONE change whether that change is a therapy setting change or a mask change.
Plus when making a therapy setting change, at least w/the Resmeds, it is best to use the Erase Data function so that the previous nights' data doesn't somewhat distort the data from the new change results.
No one seems to have yet gotten their hands on a Clinicians Manual for the Resmed S8 Elite II w/EPR in pdf format.

Hi, Carrie, from a former Tucsonan. I have the Elite Vantage II, and an iMac. Where do you get a card reader
and software for a readout?
(We fled Tucson and northern Arizona for the stability and cooler weather of Wisconsin. Too much violence
to return to visit Arizona friends, but i get the Arizona Daily Star to try to keep up with my old college stomping grounds.).
Cheers

Does the iMac have the ability to use Windows based software? If not none of the xPAP software will work.

Thanks all for the control panel help.
Seems like a fine machine...if I can just get used to a mask.
