Googling ResMed

Post by plr66 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 9:07 am

Yike. Every one of the entries on the first page has a line reading: "This site may harm your computer." Does anyone have any ideas about this? I do need contact info for this company.

I'm using Chrome and don't get those results when Googling "Resmed".

Hmmmmmm...... I see what you mean.

I did click on a couple of those links and got this message from the Google server:

Server Error
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.

Please try again in 30 seconds.

And, then when I try to click on one of the ResMed links, I get:

Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!
Suggestions:

* Return to the previous page and pick another result.
* Try another search to find what you're looking for.

Or you can continue to http://www.resmed.com/ at your own risk. For detailed information about the problems we found, visit Google's Safe Browsing diagnostic page for this site.

For more information about how to protect yourself from harmful software online, you can visit StopBadware.org.

I dunno what to tell you. That is the first "Googling" I've done today, so while I've been typing this, I Googled some other sites and words (Respironics, Fisher & Paykel and others) and none of the others came back with anything like what we are seeing on the ResMed links.

Interesting.......now it went away......
I normally use Firefox and that's what I got the initial messages from, so I opened up Internet Explorer and Googled "ResMed" and didn't get those links......SO......I went back to Firefox and did a Google search again......and they're gone from there now.

??????????????????????????

Thanks. I did just go to the website, and my computer did not disintegrate.

I don't think it's ResMed, it's Google itself. For the last few days, if I put in a popular search, the first bunch of sites, even if they looked legit, all got referred to some junk sites. Sometimes the cached thing worked.

PS and a LOL. A Google search of "Google Redirect Problem" gets redirected.

most likely you visited wnen thier server was corrupted by some form of virus, malware etc.
it has since been removed. funny how timing works.
most server systems do a self check every "x" minutes or hours.
also google (and many others search engines with site checkers) run a rolling internet site sweep
it just happens that these overlapped throwwing the red flag out

if you have good virus protection and an updated os you'll be ok

Well waddya know. Interesting event. Thanks to y'all for your responses. I have recently also been pretty suddenly blitzed with about 350 spam email per DAY, so was thinking my computer was just going further nuts. And I do use Norton, but am fairly computer-stupid and have not figured out a way to make it very user-friendly.

Google's search service has been hit by technical problems, with users unable to access search results.

For a period on Saturday, all search results were flagged as potentially harmful, with users warned that the site "may harm your computer".

Users who clicked on their preferred search result were advised to pick another one.

Google attributed the fault to human error and said most users were affected for about 40 minutes.

"What happened? Very simply, human error," wrote Marissa Mayer, vice president, search products and user experience, on the Official Google Blog.
