TheBiPAP trial is going just 'OK'. I don't have the cycle on machine set perfectly to match my own spontaneous breathing pattern yet, so I'm very conscious of every IN-OUT;IN-OUT etc and as the terminology goes- it 'flips' when I'm not quite ready but on a positive note, when I did wake up this am, I didn't think it was working. I said to myself-"This #$% thing must be off!" But , it was indeed on- just was so insinc with me that I couldn't feel it. So, I guess each night is an improvement. I have to get the pressure up to the 18/10 and I'm not there yet. Tonight I have it at 14/8. I find the force pretty strong.I looked in the manual and it says if your breaths per minute are XX, then you set the IPAP MAX at YY. So, I breathe 18 BPM (I tested if about 10 times with mask on laying in bed) so, set my IPAP at 1.6 (it suggested 1.7 but that's just a tad slow). Plus the machine I've borrowed from tech is an antique, I think. It's an old VPAP II and is as big as a house with seperate humidifer. There is barely room on a night table with them on top of each other. If you have any suggestions that I should try to have machine set better, let me know. I've played around with the Rise too. Have it at 400. I read that one should not have the Rise more than 1/3 of IPAP MAX, in order that you stay at IPAP MAX for long enough. (I sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I don't really!) I think I'm just at top tip of iceburg when I listen to you guys talking!
