OK, I called the doctor's office Wednesday to request the records and they came in the mail Friday. I now have all of this information that I don't know what to do with! What information will help y'all help me as I work to get used to this therapy? I just don't know what to look at or how to interpret it beyond what the doc dictated. Or do I need to interpret it at all? Is there info in there that can help y'all suggest what kind of machine would be better/best for me?
I'm finishing up my 4th week, am still struggling with my mask (RT is coming out with more for me to try Monday), and while I've had a couple of wonderful nights sleep, I'm probably averaging maybe 3 hours of therapy a night. Getting a persistent leak in my right eye and have some irritation in the outside corner of that eye that I feel is probably related to the mask. I'll probably be stuck with my bare bones machine for a little longer as I work on some insurance changes. Oh, placed my first (I'm sure not last!) order from CPAP.com (a longer hose and wipes). I continue to be dedicated to making this work!

Got the report and printouts from sleep study
Re: Got the report and printouts from sleep study
Hi Bets, can you scan your report into a post here (checking first that it's not huge or so tiny it can't be read)? Then people can help you interpret it. I think there are instructions someplace here for posting pix, but I don't, so I'm not sure where to look, but you'll probably find them.
Re: Got the report and printouts from sleep study
Thanks for the reply, Julie - I'll work on scanning the report tomorrow.
Re: Got the report and printouts from sleep study
Well of course my scanner choses today to malfunction - I'll keep working on it. I'm still not sure exactly which pages I should scan - I have the initial consulation report, the summary of the study from the sleep doc, and 2 sets of data - one from each half of the split study. That includes sleep staging data, respiratory data, body position data, snoring data, oximetry data, cardiac data, PLM data, arousal data, event summary, and then 2 pages of little graph thingies - are the graphs what I should post?
The write up from the initial consultation included this statement: "In addition, she has significant nasal narrowing which may be her site of resistance leading to upper airway closure." I thought that was interesting. Docs have always commented on my narrow nasal passages.
In the first half of the split night, I never got to stage 3, 4, or REM sleep. In the titration half, I did get to stage 3 but not stage 4 or REM.
I'm fascinated by the details. Don't know what they all mean, but am interested in learning.

OK, should be able to scan now - but still unsure as to which part of the report is important to post. Thoughts?
