Anyone using this combo?

How pleased are you with your independent humidifiers?

I have an M Series Auto and I use the Fisher&Paykel stand alone HC150 humidifier with it. It works great! The humidifier is excellent! I use the tray that comes with it and the humdifier is attached to the tray (it would take a lot to pull the whole thing down). There is room on the tray for my auto as well, The same should be true of the Sandman. I have my machine on a computer mousepad as well. The mousepad sits on the tray - the machine on the mousepad (helps prevent slippage).

I have the integrated one for the M Series but bought the stand alone one because I had read about leak issues.

My plan was to keep the integrated one for travelling but, since it is the old model, I don't trust it. I just won a new M Series integrated one (the R3) on cpapauction. I will trust that more for travel!

The HC 150 works with virtually all cpap machines. I'm sure it will work very well with the Sandman.

Sorry about your mishap!!

Good luck!

The HC 150 works with virtually all cpap machines. I'm sure it will work very well with the Sandman.

The Sandman has a ledge at the back that presses down when weight is on it and the ledge is very narrow... I don't know how the stand alone humidifier would work with that unless all it needs is to have the hose plugged in.

Maybe we should have a poll of how many people are having their Sandman damaged due to light-weight and narrow humidifier leaking into Sandman because of easy tippage. So far, there are at least two of us.

My machine is on a (very sturdy) night stand next to my bed. However, since the top of it has a very slick finish, I put two old large mouse pads on it/under my machine to keep it from slipping......it doesn't move.

Sandman makes an auto without the humidifier. I will be talking to CPAP.com on Monday about a new machine.

My complaints with the auto HC prior to this incident has been:
  • Humidifier if not seated properly causes pressure problems. I have experienced this multiple times.
When taking a potty break in the middle of the night when you put the mask back on it does not "sense" the breathing and ramp back up to program.
When filling the humidifier to max: causes lots of noise
Otherwise, I love the auto features. My AHI is routinely under 3 most being under 2.

I am going with the F&P HC 150
