Will the hypo filters fit the Resmed S8 auto? Looking at a picture of them, they look like they are shaped differently.

My understanding is that all the S8's, including the S8 II's, use the same filters.

Ha! They've changed the after market recommendation then. Thanks, jnk. I haven't had to buy any in ..... ages. My current DME is providing my filters, every 3 momths. My original DME never provided even ONE in 13 months I was stuck w/them!!! Because of having had a furnace add-on woodburner for better than 20 years, despite having the ducts cleaned, this is still one dusty, dirty house during the winter. Plus add hairy cats and dogs (can't have any short-haired creatures around here for some reason). Heck, I name my dust bunnies.

I replaced the filter on my VPAP Auto for the first time yesterday. It was about 5 months old and dusty, even though the apartment we live in isn't dusty at all and is year-round climate controlled. It's funny, I know it is just subliminal, but I had the lowest AHI I've had in a long time last night with that new filter!

Don't forget to put fresh hay down in all the stalls, Slinky!

Yes, Slinky, fresh hay for those horses. And, don't they have short hair?

I'm just saying...

Apria just sent me a generic AG Industries hypo filters instead of the original Resmed hypo filters they were shipping. The generic is a two part filter with the white hypo pad a separate part that is inserted first before the blue filter material.

The white hypo pad is much thicker then the original Resmed filter hypo pad.

The result is my S8 Autoset II is much louder! The motor is straining to pull air in through the generic filter and the machine is twice as loud as it was. This generic filter will probably overheat the S8 and void the warranty too.

Fortunately I had an extra Resmed original hypo filter and removed the generic one Apria sent me. I checked and Apria is charging my insurance company, which is Cigna, the same price for the generic filters as the original Resmed ones.
