Hi Everyone...
I am a new member of your forum.
Thank-You for helping each other with CPAP and sleep apnea problems!
My question today is if anyone is experiencing puffy eyes and eye bags
in the morning? Is this a CPAP problem or a medical condition....
My face feels full and puffy.
Please HELP!!

Re: puffy eyes
I have had the same problem on and off.
I think the mask is on too tight. But if I loosen it, I get leaks.
Perhaps a new mask is in order (been lax in looking into that). I was thinking of the comfort gel one so I won't get the forehead mark and at the side(s) of my nose. I'm using a small and the top side of the mask hits right at the corner of my eyes unless I move it lower, then it stops at the middle of my upper lip. Not sure if the gel one is wider at that top spot, guess I need to find out or try some new masks.

Re: puffy eyes
I've mentioned before that I have suddenly had bags under my eyes just since starting XPAP, and I use a Swift LT exclusively, which has minimal face contact....Wish I understood this phenomenon.Dragon Lady wrote:I have had the same problem on and off.

DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.
Re: puffy eyes
Well....I was wondering if my mask was too tight. I did have marks across my face this morning also.
I am due to change the mask. I have a new one...just been too busy (or lazy) to change it!
thanks!!

Re: puffy eyes
I get puffy eyes if I have the humidifier set too high. I just started CPAP recently, and get an unbearable nose itch on the sides of my nose several times a night. My CPAP tech suggestd I set the humdity up a notch, and when I did, my eyes were puffy the next morning. Turned the humidity down, the puffiness went away.

Thank-You, DEBJAx...
I loosened my mask last night and did not use the humidifier and much better this morning!
