Mask leak with HC 432

Post by formerobgyn » Mon Dec 15, 2008 7:23 am

I have a Fisher & Paykel HC432 mask. After washing my face, it works well to about 3AM. It then starts leaking from the sides producing the "flatulent" sound. Wahing my face again works to about 5AM at which time the mask and cushion separate slightly at the bottom with the huge escape of air. I suppose I could tape the area but I am looking for any solution

I've had problems with the FP straps loosening up while sleeping, they do stretch easily. It sounds like when you toss n turn the mask is moving. If you have another mask, try swapping the headgear. I like the Resmed headgear much better bc it doesn't stretch like the FP headgear.

Also you can, Do a search on Rested Gal's straps to help hold your mask in place. I've used knee high nylons to hold my mask.

You never mentioned what you pressure is? Could your pressure be going up at these times?
