First, you must be logged in. In the upper left corner it should say "User Control Panel (# New Messages) View your Messages" If you click on the center # New Messages it will take you to the message section. You can manuver there for saved messages etc.

unless you know it's a member of a group, there's not way to know where it came from. even if the members list was closed, group members getting posts into their e-mail will still get your address. hiding your e-mail address could be an option only if it is, you can the only post off the group and not from your own e-mail.
any time you use on line services, belong to groups, you expose yourself to certain things and e-mails.
