What 2 buy and where 2 buy it

OK - it's purchase time. Used the test machine that they gave me but my insurance doesn't cover buying one. So - it's time to buy.

I did not need a humidifier but if one come with free or cheap I'll take it. I used a Remstor M series in the test. Seemed to do a reasonable job but if there's something better I'm interested. I'm not poor but not rich either. I'm thinking $600 - $800 range.

I'm a computer guy so I like settings, software, and computer interfaces but also like the "it just works" kind of device too. I want auto whatever. Tell me about a-flex. Do I want that?

They slipped me a free mask. But do I want nasal pillows?

And - I need to know where to buy. I have a perscription.

Here is rested gal's summary of A-flex, if I may plagiarize her again:

In a nutshell, C-flex affects only the beginning of exhaling. As I understand it (and I could be wrong) A-flex does that too, but A-flex also "smooths" the transition of the pressure moving back up. A-flex rounds out the transitions, smoothing more than just the beginning of exhaling. I've used both, and A-flex is definitely more comfortable to me than just C-flex. Each person is different though. Some like one better than the other. Some like both turned off. The nice thing about getting the auto with A-flex is that is does also have C-flex. I like my nasal pillows, but masks are a very individual thing. If you go full-face, you don't have to worry about fighting mouth leaks. If you go nasal or nasal pillows, you may need a plan for fighting jaw-drop and lip-flutters.

Purchase All except the cookie sheet from CPAP.COM (they are nice people to do business with).

Buy as a package....and negotiate on the price. If they won't "deal", go elsewhere.

You are in a good position....free to purchase what you want....from who you want to buy from.

With the equipment I've recommended, you can do a wonderful job of managing your condition.

you'll probably find that you already own the humidifier... so it'll be slightly cheaper to stick to the Respironics version... you'll be able to use the same humidifier.
