My doc is a customer

One of my first posts (and the reason I was driven to this site) was because my pulm doc had fixed my apap machine at a pressure that I couldn't handle in order to fall asleep.

This past Monday I had a follow up and mentioned that I wanted a copy of my script so that I could order a backup machine.
He asked me where i'd order it from and I told him cpap.com. He said, oh yeah they're good. Then he said he's ordered his own supplies from there. He took care of forwarding my script.

This visit he was a little more willing to talk about my treatment, answered some questions and offered some advice.

I guess he ain't so bad after all.


EDIT: i forgot to add that he was going to check up on my problems with the DME and the insurance billing.

That's great to hear! I think sometimes we are so convinced that our doctors are bad, that we let them treat us like ignorant idiots. I think the truly good doctors are motivated when they see that their patients are also motivated to take charge of their own health. I think for the most part, people are wholly uninterested in making the effort it takes to get healthy and follow their doctor's instructions. (I realize this is a bit the chicken and the egg situation, and that there are plenty of kooky docs out there too - I've had my share of uninterested docs!) I hope you continue to have good experiences with your doc!

I'll second .. I also have a Doctor that is great to work with. And, my DME, despite a few bumps, and despite they all knowing my name .. are also getting there.
