I agree with everyone who suggested that Hypothyroidism may be the problem. I suffer with Hashimotos disease and the feelings you describe are EXACTLY what I was going through when diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis. Originally my doctors thought that I had sleep apnea and went through two sleep studies. Luckily they discovered my hypothyroidism through a Hashimotos test and felt it caused the sleep disturbances, because I could not stand the breathing machines. Google hypothyroid and exhaustion and see what you find, also go out to the Armour website and search their doctor database for doctors in your area who treat thyroid related issues: http://www.armourthyroid.com/con_phLocator.aspx Armour doctors tend to be the best at discovering an underlining thyroid issue.

We thyroid sufferers call the feelings of wanting to just die from being sick of being exhausted "thyroid madness" because the thoughts are brought on by the thyroid condition and are not "real".

Best of luck - Catherine

Yes, get your thyroid checked! If anyone is interested in a good thyroid board, please PM me and I'll give you the link. There's a ton of information there for all things thyroid!

Also, when I take I nap, I do my best to sleep with the mask on. But then I think we all fall asleep on the couch or the recliner sometimes without planning to!
