For some reason using a nasal mask seems to make the air cooler. The air is actually room temperature if you are not using heat on your humidifier. According to your profile you have a heated humidifier which I understand has 3 settings. If it seems too coLD turn up the heat. Just in reading your post it sounds like you probably keep it pretty cool in the bedroom, so turn up the heat in increments, otherwise you might experience rainout or condensation is your tubing and mask. If you do experience rainout but enjoy the heated humidity there are options to help with the condensation issues. I use a nasal mask and a pillow mask. The air seems colder in the nasal mask and I sleep with little heat, but when I use the pillow mask my nares get real sore if the heat isn't turned up. Good luck, it takes a little experimentation to get it all right, but when you do it is so good!
If it wasn't for my Marine son being deployed I would be sleeping good!

I had that cold air problem happen last winter and luckily had purchased the Aussie heated hose ahead of time. One night I went to bed and started cpap and was shocked by how cold the air felt. I immediately got up and switched to the heated hose and wow - what a difference. It didn't feel hot but the air immediately felt normal. It's not cheap but it's most definitely worth it!

I purchased my first one from the company in Australia. They were great but USPS wouldn't give me the package until I paid something like $15 "postage due" - it really wasn't due but packages from Australia don't seem to have postage labels like the USPS are used to. I dropped the darn transformer this year and broke it and wasn't able to find a new one. I was able to order the same Aussie heated hose from a company in the US (which obviously imports it from same Australian company) and it arrived in just a few days. Cheaper shipping, too

For me, the air was cold with both nasal and FF masks.

I've thought of the aussie hose myself, but i've been spending all my dough on an assortment of masks. ;o) So instead i got the hose huggie someone mentioned on here and i also got the reptile heat cable

also mentioned by someone here. The first night i wrapped it too well around my hose and the air was acutally too warm. Not hot but, I prefer cooler (not cold) air. I wrapped it less well the second night and it was better and tonight, i won't wrap it at all but mearly lay it inside the hose huggie. It's cheap, efficient, water proof, and can be used with any of the hoses i have. Eventually the aussie hose may be the way to go but for now this seems like it will do the trick.

Will be interested in hearing whether this works well for you, and whether you feel like you really need the reptile heat cable at all inside the hose huggie.

I can't speak for anyone else but I've tried two different hose covers and they just didn't "do it" for me - air was still too cold. They're fine until it gets below freezing out but after that they feel same as no cover. I've heard of a number of people using the reptile heat cable and was tempted to try it but needed something quickly and didn't have time to experiment.
