Bipap pro 2 question

Post by erbelady » Thu Nov 20, 2008 12:17 pm

I recently got the Bipap pro2 with the heated humidifier. Every night I turn on the heater and after about an hour or so it shuts itself off. Is it supposed to do this? If not, is there a way I can change it? Thanks

What shuts off? The Bi-PAP or the humidifier? If you're pre-heating the humidifier, there's only about a 20 min. (or some time frame) window before the humidifier will shut off.....if the machine is not started up before then. This was a characteristic of all of the Legacy models.

The humidifier shuts off. Sorry, I should have been more clear. But it is during the night, when I am using it.

Not sure about that one. Could be a problem with the humidifier. Also, inside one of the "feet" of the Bi-PAP and on one of the back corners of the humidifier......where it fits together, there's a sensor (visible on the HH base).....I believe it's an infrared "eye" which controls the humidifier from the Bi-PAP. Make sure that it is clean and not obstructed with crud/dust, etc.
