My first look at my data

Post by metron9 » Tue Aug 02, 2005 8:09 pm

I guess I really do need cpap, I thought losing 35 lbs did the trick but the first look at my data using encore pro shows me I was wrong. I knew this was going to be a good investment.

I set the machine from low of 7 to high of 11 (11 was the recommended pressure from the sleep study) The data shows it ramped up from 7 to 11 and then back down to 7. During the ramp up I had 5 OAs at 11 I had none and as it ramped down to 7 I again had 4 OAs as it ramped back up to 11.

It seems to me and this is premature perhaps as I don't know the logic used to select pressures during use, but the question I have is why if during a ramp up from 7 to 11 the machine reecorded 5 OAs why did it go all the way back to 7 even when more OAs were recorded before moving back up to 11?

How much data does the machine collect to base its logic in setting the pressure, Hours? days? maby nobody knows but I plan to set the low at 10 and the high at 12 tonight to see what I get tomorrow. It would seem to me at first glance the logic is flawed but I only have 3 hours of data because I started at a low setting of 4. I can see this would be a good setting to find out if someone has sleep apnia.

When I reset the machine from low of 4 to low of 7, it seems the detailed info was thrown out on the charts, they only show the 3 hours after I set it to 7-11
