Forgot to mention... My blood pressure has rised significantly in last 6 months.. I had B-pressure check today ( i had appointment with my asthma nurse) 156/110. She recommend that i start blood pressure medication soon... More pills for the symptoms... Great

Difficult question rooster, there's so much different genres of music i love to listen.
It's easier to say what kind of music i mostly like to play with the band:
50's - 80's Rock'n'Roll, Rock, Rockabilly, Blues, Rhythm'n'Blues.. Straight, Powerful, Simple.

Okay, you've convinced me. The doc is really a part-time shoe salesman posing as a sleep doc.
Get a second opinion, oxygenium65. Better yet, switch doctors.

DD,

Since you edited out Oxy's comments immediately preceding the statement of mine that you quoted, I would like to clarify, the "view" I was referring to is that cpap "doesn't do much for depression". It is well known that sleep apnea can cause depression and successful treatment of sleep apnea can relieve and in many cases eliminate the depression.

Like you, I also would suggest another doctor, one who is very familiar with sleep apnea and its effects, but realistically one like this can be very hard to find.

Regards all and best wishes to Oxy that he may have his cpap therapy speeded up,
Rooster

I am envious that you are obviously getting better sleep than I. My logical parsing ability seems to have fallen by the wayside since March. Thanks for straightening this out.

It is deceptive. I really have trouble keeping anything straight and this has been verified with some formal logic and memory tests.

I am at the point where my sleep has improved and my physical conditioning continues to improve. Sleep doc says I have brain damage ("spiders" in grey matter and other problems) that will never improve. Too many bad years undiagnosed/untreated.

I hope you caught yours before this point.

After 3 days antidepressants (SSRI) "testdummy" results:

- Blood pressure even higher than before med.
- Fast and irregular heartbeat.
- Feel like "nightmare", anxiety.
- Even more hazy and exhausted, but harder to get sleep than before med.
- Feel dizzy
- Vomiting
- Sweating
- Even more harder headaces than before med.
- Shaking
- etc...

Some side-effects are "normal", but i quit medication. Certainly no more drugs for me before cpap!

Thanks rooster, great links to articles about OSA and antidepressants.

Good decision! Hang in there and may you have speedy results in getting a cpap therapy working.

Finally i got cpap! After one-night home-titration with apap, i have slept two quite good nights with cpap.
Still tired, but i think i'm somehow more functional now. Yesterday i had headache whole day, today it's gone.
Today i suddenly surprised myself: "Hey i'm playing with my 2-year old son, and i'm laughing!".
Ok. i't didn't last whole day but almost an hour. Very good step away from depression i think.

Here in Finland we get cpap from the hospital for free. Unfortunately it isn't data-capable.
My current pressure setting is 12. Apap titration night highest pressure was over 16, AHI almost 9, i didn't get copy of titration resuts.. i forgot to ask

I have next sleep-nurse appointment 19.12, but i think it's quite pointless without data card.

I feel much better overall now, and one important factor is that i don't have to wait anymore for therapy. Almost 5 months wait after OSA diagnosis is finally over

Thank you for helping and supporting me. I hope someday i can help someone else in the same boat.

After a year of active use of APAP, i Feel Great!
It took just over 8 months to heal. Untreated OSA was absolutely the main cause of my depression.
I was forced to listen my doc's opinion (In my case it's finnish health care and health incurance requirement) so i spent a bit of time with SSRI drugs reluctantly
OSA treatment healed me, not drugs i'm sure.
Gone are headaces, nausea, anxiety, fatigue etc. Thanks for the APAP!
Thank you all for your support. This is great community!

Congratulations! I too am convinced that sleep apnea was the cause of my "depression"-like symptoms (and lots of other things).

And that "depression" is as overdiagnosed and overmedicated as sleep apnea is underdiagnosed. Hopefully that's changing. Well, each of us can move that change along, just be speaking up. I'm (gently) educating my doctors, friends, family ...

(Now, DON'T you wait 2 years) You know, I'll tell you why it is so difficult to accept this 'new thing' that we must get used to..........It is because NO OTHER family member or friends before us was on cpap therapy, we are the FIRST ONES, in other words, we've nobody as role model that could help and teach us how to live with cpap. Very true! Luckily for me my wife blazed that trail, and now my journey is easy.
