update and mask condensation

Post by new to cpap » Wed Oct 08, 2008 6:41 pm

Just as an update, I got the comfort fusion mask on friday. I didn't feel awful on Saturday, I didn't feel awful on Sunday, I actually slept through the whole night on Sunday and monday night (Huge for me...I can't even remember the last time I slept through the whole night without getting up at least once to go to the bathroom!!). Last night I didn't sleep through the whole night. Again, I don't feel awful like I did before with the other mask but I still don't feel like I did after the titration study. One thing that has been driving me nuts, though, is my mask is condensating during the night and dripping on my nose! That is very annoying and uncomfortable. Why is that happening? What can I do to stop it? My humidifier is at the lowest setting it will go...1.

Things are looking up...just need to work out some kinks...

I am getting the blemishes on the sides of my nose again from where the comfort fusion is resting on my face. I have been trying to use astringent on my face morning and night but that is really drying my face out. Is there anything else that will prevent this?

You'll need to determine if the rainout is caused by exhaled breath...or....by condensation of moist air on the inside of the hose (caused by low room temp). Each rainout cause has its own group of "fixes".

You might try turning off the humidifier....running it in "passover" mode....w/o heat = "off".
