repair broken clip connectors easily comfort gel mask

Hello All,

I have found a fix for the broken clips that hold the ball joints in place. First I used an emory board to rough up the ball. Then I placed good sized blob of hot glue into the hole of the broken clip holder. Let it cool for a few seconds and placed the ball into the socket in the appropriate angle for usage, added more glue on top. I held it in place until the glue cooled a bit, placed it on a support and let it cool completely. Of course this means you can not remove it but it does beat having to purchase another mask. If you don't have a glue gun they are very inexpensive at Walmart type places.

Hope this helps others,

Rhonda

I have used hot melt glue on a ComfortFull mask, to repair the clip on the "T" headpiece, it wasn't pretty, but it worked, it made for a pretty heavy glob of glue. Using my method of repairing the sockets of the comfortGel clips, keeps the ball free to move to the angle and swivel of the orgional. I even went so far as to cut and grind a piece of hard plastic to epoxy the ball into the clip. making it so the clips don't spread, (that's what causes the break, you have to remove the ball upwards, pulling it out as a angle breaks the outer ear off)

The first time I had to hold the parts in alighment untill the epxoy set. (Not Smart) The second time I used a Krazy Glue Pin much better, then I could apply the J B Weld without chasing the little broken pieces.

I use J B Weld myself, I think if some was used when the mask was new the repair would work better. Face oils make repair harder the repair. I clean 7 dry the repair area well, then use Krazy Glue to hold the broken part in place. Then the J B Weld to make the repair final. It's not pretty but it works. (I always over repair everything) Jim

I have repaired 2 of these masks using 2 Part Quickset Epoxy. First one I lost the broken piece and just put a large blob of the epoxy on the last and held it while it dried. 2nd I found the part and used small amount of epoxy to secure ball in socket. Then when it was tacky but not fully set I pressed the broken part into the epoxy. Then filled in the rest of the socket and back filled behind the broken piece. This repair has lasted a long time. Mask clip on the other side has not yet broken so I use it to take the mask off and on. Once it breaks I will replace the mask.
