Sore bridge of nose

Post by drgmeh » Wed Sep 10, 2008 7:22 pm

The bridge of my nose is getting very sore. I have a nasal mask, I have adjusted it many times, if its too loose I get air leakage and feel it in my eyes. I have been putting a bandaid on my nose, this helps a little but Im still brusing and sore. Anybody have any other suggestions or a better mask suggestion? I toss and turn alot so I need something that wont come off either. I have tried the ones that stay below your nose, not cover it, doesnt stay on.

First, you really need to fill in your profile. Go to user control panel and you'll find your profile. Fill it in with what machine and mask you use. It will help you get better answers to any questions you might have.
Post the mask you are using and others that use that mask may be able to be more help. In the mean time...You can try moleskin on the mask where it rubs your nose. This will cushion it a bit, but still allow a seal. OR You can go to http://www.padacheek.com and get a nose bridge protector;

My mask hurt my nose..still does a little..(2-wks) but not so bad. I have the "ComfortGel" which I was able heat up according to instructions to provide a more custom fit...Now my nose is only a little irritated instead of really red and swollen......you need to identify the exact model you have and folks will help. Believe me, they will come up with an answer to everything you need here!

A piece of Moleskin about 3/4 x 1 inch applied to the nose will work wonders for this problem.

I had the same problem until I switched to the Resmed Liberty mask.

For a year I have had a sore nose, sometimes bleeding, always deeply groved and red. No matter what mask (I have 10) I tried, my nose hurt. If yu could see my honker you would understand why. This week I broke down and ordered padacheeks nose protector for the Activa. I didn't think it would work or I would have ordered it a year earlier. It came in yesterday and I couldn't wait to go to bed to try it out. Guess what???? It worked!!! It didn't leak, as I suspected it would and my nose, although red this morning was not sore. Six hours later and I think I'm getting my poor nose back. Forget the moleskin and other fixes. Go straight for the padacheeks. Save yourself the pain. And while you are there, get some strap guards. They make all the difference in the world. Thanks, Karen!
