The card reader and software I purchased from cpap.com I believe, if I remember correctly, didn't have customs? But when I returned the reader to Australia and was sent a copy of the updated 3.5 version o rescan software, I had to pay customs 36.00.
On a side note, where did your ResScan Reader and 3.5 software come from? Australia?
I could only find the software at thecpapshop.com @ $175.00USD
ResScan Reader was $61.95 and ResScan DataCard was $12.50 @ cpapusa.com
Both of these originate in U.S.A.
I don't understand the duty on a CD,was it bundled with the reader?...and am interested in getting these items.

Sorry 5aces,

I missed your question of where I got my Rescan software and reader. I bought them at cpap.com. no tax or custom, delivered via Canada Post. My reader was having problems and I emailed support in Australia by mistake and worked with the tech for a week to try solving the problem. Finally I suggested sending the reader to Resmed to find out what the problem was. He agreed and said he would send me an updated version of the rescan software for Vista along with a new reader.

cpap.com only sells the 3.3 version which is fine for win xp but not for vista. Vista needs the v.3.5 which you have to contac support@resmed.au

Anne

Thank you kindly for the reply.
The software @ thecpapshop.com IS VER 3.5-had to scour the net to find it!
ImageResmed ResScan Software $175.00 SKU: 31068

Yes us Canadians must refer to our HealthCare tech to view more complete data in convenient chart form.
Only been on CPAP since July30/08,what is there to say? Arrrggg...
Just called the techie to hook me up with the ResLink scanner and an oximeter,so I can truly capture the complete chain of events.
These forums are very insightful,I now belong to three of them.

I think I belong to at least that many sleep apnea forums, but I have limited my time on the computer. (Well, I'd stay on forever Image if I didn't limit myself.)

Cpap.com is the only one I visit regularly now. Image Go figure!

I bought my last machine & etc. from a company in Buffalo who shipped it to me, at my request, by mail and noted it "medical equipment GST exempt code 57" . If you are charged GST you can apply by letter for a refund. The company charged me a small "shipping by courier fee" only ($8 I think) but sent it to me by the postal service, fair enough as someone would have had to take it to the P.O. as opposed to it being picked up at their premises.
I didn't realize that cpapcom would send orders by mail as opposed to courier, and thought that they had an added charge for shipping to Canada, but from what i read lately it doesn't sound as if they do (have an added charge that is).??
