Can anyone tell me what this report is saying?

I'm not feeling much better but it could be that I'm back to being depressed...? any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with your type of machine or therapy but your AHI and leak numbers look pretty good to me.
Perhaps depression is your problem, but I can't help you there either except maybe to suggest that you cheer up ... lot's of people have it much worse than you do if you stop and think about it.

DreamS... was that last remark really called for? About as insensitive as it gets, I'd say!

Sorry my sensitivity does not measure up to your standards ... I'm weird that way I guess.Julie wrote:DreamS... was that last remark really called for? About as insensitive as it gets, I'd say!
I meant no offense to oneofsevendwarfs and I honestly never even new you existed until you replied to this post.
I have had a couple of bouts with depression myself. I suppose there are drugs available to deal with it but I prefer drug-free methods whenever possible (I have this bad prespective of the pharma industry). The one drug-free method I use most is to realize that there is always someone worse off than I am and my problems then become easier to manage and overcome. Works for me but I'm weird that way.
I dunno. Perhaps oneofsevendwarfs will find your post more useful and sensitive ... what do I know?
I'm just an apneaic in a rock-n-roll band ... (well not really in a band, but music cheers me up too) have a better day!

about the only thing I see is your BPM backup rate is not set correctly. I don't know your height so I cannot comment on your avg. Tidal Volume seen. Current configuration doesn't include much pressure support from EPAP, the number of events seen is low so that appears good.
But I'd need to know more about your current machine settings, like Start I time etc. Report shows avg. Tidal Volume at 486, I don't know if that is low or high because I don't know your height.
But it appears you start off better with it over 600 then drop as the night progresses. Without knowing that info and what is broken or what you are trying to fix, I can only go by what I see and the backup BPM doesn't look right to me especially when your spontaneous BPM is 18.5 and the backup BPM is 8, if I'm reading it correctly. Your backup rate should be -2 from the spontaneous BPM seen, so that would be 16 instead of 8.
I would put the backup rate in Auto mode until you know what the settings are for it. What is your Inspiration time set to? and how tall are you?
You have Zero obstructive apnea, how did you get to EPAP=6.0cm? Did you have a PSG titration and they set it to that? If it was set by a RT, do you know how experienced they were in setting this machine up? Comments like 'I've never seen one of these before" can be a clue they didn't have much experience.
In the absence of "knowing" that and with a zero Apnea, I would have to manually titrate for that by lowering EPAP from 6.0 to 5.0 cm for a few nights and see what happens, if apnea shows up you know that EPAP is set correctly. Then you can adjust IPAP min and inspiration time to improve breathing. I believe (hard to make out) that patient triggered breathing is at 89%? That means the other 11% of the time are machine triggered breathing (using backup mode which appears set incorrectly?_). When you are having central or periodic breathing the machine may switch to the backup mode where it slows breathing (reason backup BPM is set -2 from spontaneous rate).
Like I said, I need more info on the machine's settings and what you are trying to fix, your height would also help.

We're kindred spirits, DreamStalker. My mother drilled into me from as early an age as I can remember ... you never have it so bad but that you can look around you and quickly find someone who has it much worse. And I've found that to be so true and it has sustained me thru some really rough times! And, music also lifts my spirits! When I'm down I start out w/slow, mellow, kind of sad music to fit my mood and then graduate to happier, bouncier music and usually end up dancing a few steps around the house before I'm done.DreamStalker wrote: ... is that Patient Triggered Breaths (%) 89.6 percent or 39.6 percent?oneofsevendwarfs wrote:http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq18 ... titled.jpg

Sorry, my eyes are not as good as they once were and that text is very small. Leak looks good, center of the graph shows your breathing went wild up to 30 PBM.
If it was me, I would try adding some pressure support, I would increase the IPAP Min by 2 cm and compare results. How did you come up with the 6.0 cm EPAP?
