2 months passed, will CPAP repair my under warranty BIPAP?
I am totally not satisfied with CPAP.com repair service, i have purchased a resmed BIPAP machine and after few months it failed giving an error code. i was asked to ship it to CPAP under RMA RT11159.
Following up regularly with CPAP we receive different responses; LIKE , it was misplaced in the stores, it was not sent for reopair, now it is with the manufacturer we will call them and see where it is, and the list drags on... !!!!
Now after more than two months still there is no news on the situation of this machine.
I had to buy from CPAP.com a new one (order 289551) while i am still waiting for the old one (that is still under warranty) to be repaired.
I am starting to wonder if this machine will ever be repaired and returned back to me.. which i still didnt lose hope to get it sometime in my current life time
Loosing hope on receiving the machine back i am reverting to the last resort (posting a message here), maybe my case will be treated with a little high priority

Two months or more is not an inordinate amount of time when having a machine sent in for factory repairs. And, in my opinion, everyone should have a backup machine. However, I would never own a ResMed machine. About two years ago, I sent my Pro 2 back to Respironics (through CPAP.COM) for repairs and had no problems......and it was about two months or so before it came back.
Your machine failure is NOT the fault of CPAP.COM. Depending on WHY it failed or what error code resulted might either point to the manufacturer or you. (getting water in one of these machines can cause big problems.....which is one of the frequent reasons for failures)
I think your post, in general, and your last sentence, in particular, will probably not get you much sympathy here.

Re: 2 months passed, will CPAP repair my under warranty BIPAP?
my guess:
Machine most likely got sent back to Resmed Authorized repair facility in Poway as that is what you have to do with their machines under warranty. So if you shipped it to cpap.com Ground, that would take a week, if then got sent on to Resmed, that would take a week, that is 2 weeks, then at least a week in repair, that is 3 weeks, then a week to ship it back to cpap.com that is 4 weeks, and finally a week to ship it back to you is 5 weeks Minimum.
It's been 2 months? I'd be on the phone to that witch hazel at Resmed in Poway asking what's up with your machine, you have the Serial number don't ya?
They must be so backlogged with repairs they haven't gotten to yours yet?

Like Wolfman, I'd take a Black & Decker over a Resmed, but you all know that! Jim

Of, fer crying out loud! Messages about a Respironics, especially M Series, error code, problems & returns and its oh shucks, that darn humidifier bit. But let a Resmed exhibit a problem and the pot shots flare.
Need I remind you boys that even you, SnoreDog, have recommended a Resmed over the M Series? that there have been M Series, and even on one or two occasions, Legacy problems, wherein the device has had to be returned for repair? that the Resmeds don't have the notorious blue lights that can't be shut off? that the Resmeds aren't dropping data one or two nights a month, that the Humidaire 2i s nor 3is has had leak problems, much less damaging leak problems? that when Resmed had the power connection problem they voluntarily MADE GOOD on ALL units that "might" have developed the problem, whereas Respironics' voluntary recall was limited that only provided a "fix" that later proved it needed a "fix, that later proved it needed a "fix" and the latter two "fixes" did NOT result in a recall? shall I continue or is that sufficient?
You like your Respironics, for the most part they are a good device and they do provide good therapy. There are those of us here who like our Resmeds which are good devices and provide good therapy. There are those here w/the Puritan Bennett 420E which are good devices and provide good therapy. And lately we are reading of those w/Sandman Autos that they like and that are providing good therapy. Its one thing to point out the short comings of a particular brand or model, its another thing to "campaign" against a particular brand that actually has had LESS problems than your much faultier M Series.

OK.....but the original poster (OP) never said what the "problem" was with the machine or what might have caused it.....only bad-mouthing CPAP.COM because it seemed like it was taking longer to get the problem resolved.Slinky wrote:Of, fer crying out loud! By the way, I would NOT own a Respironics M Series machine, either. "Tanks" rule!!!

Re: 2 months passed, will CPAP repair my under warranty BIPAP?
HI
please note that I am not bad mouthing anyone, I simply have an RMA and a receipt from CPAP and not from respironics.
if it was the case with the manufacturer repair turn around (for items that are under warranty), then I shouldn’t be the only one facing this problem with them; and this should have raised red flags at CPAP and they should have found a solution with them. I know if i had a similar problem with the manufacturers I sell their products I will be breathing on the manufacturer neck asking for the problem to be solved.
I know CPAP and I dont know respironices.
I hope that i find closure..
PS: i will keep buying from CPAP due to their fast delivery and the wide selection of products they have on stock.

Re: 2 months passed, will CPAP repair my under warranty BIPAP?
HI again
to set the story straight. i purchased the BIPAP auto M series after comparing many machines, i forgot what was the reason i bought it for, but among others were portability and Biflex.. i am not using the AUTO but i am Happy with it this is why i bought another one exactly identical (one thing i noticed, the new one had a different humidifier than the one that is currently under repair).
so please make no mistake, I still am a fan or both respironics and CPAP. Didn't anyone face your brother when you believed he is doing something wrong? That is what i am doing now.
PS: how did anyone know that it was an M series? when i didnt even mention the part number of the machine???? I guess you have access to my RMA .. Please Help me

In your original post, you stated "...i have purchased a resmed BIPAP machine...". Now you say it's a Respironics Bi-PAP Auto M Series.khaled wrote:HI again

I am interested in following the resolution of this repair. Since cpap.com is not a authorized Resmed reseller, does the machine actually go back to Resmed for repair work?Snoredog wrote:my guess:

I asked about "authorized" dealers a few months ago before purchasing my Resmed S8 Autoset Vantage. I purchased from a authorized dealer at that time because the cost was only +$50usd more than cpap.com.
Now looking for a S8 II Auto for my wife who was recently diagnosed with SA. There is now a substantial difference in cost between cpap.com and authorized sellers. Decisions, decisions!

Always contact the online DME supplier via toll-free number and ask them if they have an "unadvertised sale price" on any Resmed (or Respironics or Fisher & Payklel) device you are interested in. All 3 companies have instituted MAP (minimum advertised pricing) policies.

Re: 2 months passed, will CPAP repair my under warranty BIPAP?
I think they are an authorized dealer, just not a preferred Internet dealer if that means anything, but they have been selling Resmed machines and masks for many years before Resmed ever initiated their price increase program. My guess is they probably still sell more Resmed product than anyone.hobbs wrote:I am interested in following the resolution of this repair.
