"Corner Gas" Fans Are You Out There?

Post by roster » Thu Aug 21, 2008 5:19 pm

This is not off-topic and I will tell you why. I tend to read 'heavy' stuff (I know, you can't tell by my posts) and watch tv programs on CSPAN, Discovery Channel, HD Theater, PBS and the History Channel. This is usually not very relaxing just before bedtime.

A few months ago, a friend recommended Corner Gas on http://www.wgnamerica.com/cornergas.html. I like that mindless show and started DVRing all of them. Just before I go to bed I usually watch one episode. FFing through the commercials you can watch an episode in 20 minutes.

It helps get my mind off the heavy stuff before I mask up and go to bed.

Any other fans out there?

I LOVE THAT SHOW! I just can't remember: A) when it's on, B) where it's on.

I don't do DVR yet.

I too need ENTERTAINMENT after a day filled with trying to solve life and death problems for every soul in my school district.

I can't figure out why it's not on our local Canadian affiliate - it appears to be a Canadian show.

Can you put me on some sort of auto-email reminder list so I can remember when it's on so I can watch it?

I loved the last one I watched - they were all out jogging and someone was driving instead of jogging... so cute!!! So very BARB.

LOL,
Babs

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Never seen it or heard of it But I DO agree with the needing to unwind before going to bed, and that DOES NOT include the news. We're watching old Monty Python Flying Circus episodes right now (that's what they have on rotation, before that it was Fauwlty Towers, and before that it was something else British just as hilarious!)

Edit: oh yeah, it was 'Allo 'Allo ... youuuuuu stuuuuupid woman

I can still pick up "Good Neighbors" now and again. I just love that Tom & Barbara! My mother, surprisingly, is a huge fan of "Keeping up Appearances"? Is that it? With Hyacinth? I think my mother lacks certain elements of self-awareness....

My other favorite is "My Name is Earl". Now that's just good clean family entertainment. Well, in MY NEIGHBORHOOD it is... And yes, trailer parks are legal in Lakewood... Our neighbors to the north have outlawed them. When trailers are outlawed, only outlaws will live in trailers...

LOL,
Babs

Echo, I am very disappointed in you because the show is coming from 435 N. Michigan Ave..

But it is a Canadian product exported to USA!

The Chicago Tribune building? Isn't that the office of John Belushi's character in Continental Divide? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082200/

Is there a Blues Brothers reference, too? I'm so confused....

BTW - I like Continental Divide, too.

LOL,

Yeh they make Corner Gas not too far from where I live. It is made in Regina Sask, and on location in Rouleau Sk. Canada. Here is a link. They have all the shows on broadband to watch for free.

We record it on our DVR (gotta love it!) from WGN. If you have a satellite like Dishnet you can get it. We first discovered it on our trip this year to Whistler, BC and think it's hilarious.
